I have to admit it is a bit pricy at 150$.......the 129$ special is not that bad IMO but it is not USD price. A CM 690 is 79$ US Thing that a CM Sniper as more than 690 to justify higher price: - Dust filter - fan speed control - handle on top - wheels at the bottom I have read that if you tap the top of the case some will reset the system ( bad reset button? ) But why this case will BSOD or reboot with a discharge and not others case?
-
I have a CM 690 and like it but if i have to build a new rig a would definitely choose a CM Sniper case. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119194 - This case look nice ( interior all black ) - got great air flow ( 3x 200mm + 120mm ) and silent if you want ( fan speed control ) - Dust filter - Big enough to fit any card in - handle on top and wheel in the bottom ( or the rubber feet ) - 11 drive bays ( tool less ) - on top of the case : 4 usb,1 e-sata, 1 firewire, headphone jack, mic jack 129$

I have try to 1.4 volt on the vcore with low multi and 200 bclk with no luck but yes it is a CO and require a lot more voltage than DO for same OC I think like CCokeman said, the chip myth have hit a BCLK wall and mine is pass 195 = no go
-
Thank for info, but if i want to be sure i got to drop 300$ for another chip..... I am testing right now ( 195 x 19 = 3705 ) and it pass 3 round of prime 95 with mobo temp at 65 degre and cpu 74 degre max on 1.32500 v core , qpi 1.35 and almos everything else on auto.energie saving feature off. Did you ever try crossflashing bios to help BCLK? like the 0006 special bios or p6x58d premium bios?
-
I just try it and it is a NO GO
-
Now i know it is not the chipset heat problem, i disable HT and mobo maintain 48 degre and then crash. On my normal OC stable ( 3.4 + TURBO ) the mobo hit 58 degre and it is fine. I am about to give up on the 200 bclk try about every thing and no better Thing that i try - Underclock memory - low OC ( 200 X 15 ) - vcore 1.25 - qpi on auto, 1.35, 1.3750 , 1.4 - load line calibration on - cpu pll auto , 1.88 to 1.96 - al power saving feature off ( speedstep, turbo mode , ce1 support ect...) - cpu differential amplitude auto, 800 mv, 1000 mv - cpu and PCIE spread specrum disable - IOH auto, 1.3 to 1.4 - PCIE 100 to 110 What else could i try to help bclk? Booster cable on mobo?????????
-
I can OC the chip to 4 ghz with lower bclk ( 195 ) and higher multiplyer. Psu is fine.....bclk is the problem. I watch my mobo heat and when i start prime 95 the mobo will go quick to 49 degre and freeze. Is ther a thing i can do to make my chipset cooler other than put a fan beacause i have no space bettween cpu cooler and chipset tu put a permanant fan there?
-
Ok i will try again i just change to bios 1108 yesterday and try PCIE clock to 110 but can't run prime 95 more then 30 second ( 200 x 15 = 3000 mhz )....but dint not try IOH and PLL
-
I can boot my PC at 200 bclk at low multiplier but nothing stable. Try almost everything from voltage: , cpu, qpi , pci-e, ioh, ich ......but can't get a easy 3600 OC with my ram running at 1600 ( 200 bclk ) speed. My question is, got a i7 920 CO if i change it for a DO will it Bclk higher? Or its the mobo ( P6T Deluxe V2 ) olding my Bclk? Cpu or Motherboard? Rock

How to verify Turbo Boost working / speed on i920
Rockrtx replied to 3DCGdesign's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
Download prime95 and run torture test on 1 thread and then check with CPU-Z,right click on core and switch between core 0 to core 3 and you will find witch one is on turbo boost. -
Thanks for your reply,i Think will continue to backup but the raid 1 is really tempting since i could double read performance.
-
Yes i know i can raid 2 drive to do it but will have to pull 80-100$ of my wallet for another Samsung spinpoint f3. But still want to know if double address a folder is possible without a raid 1 config....?

I got windows 7 64 bit on a 1 TB Hdd and got a second hdd of 250 GB with XP SP3 tha i keep to backup my data. I copy and paste folder so i can access on other drive ( XP SP3 ) if main crash ( windows 7 ...) I know many people edit the main folder with all important data to second HDD but if second Hdd crash or died it is kind of useless. I did some research and found none. So my question is can i address a folder on 2 Hdd? EX: keep original location and add second HDD so it write at both place and my dont worry about backup anymore C:,F:MY folder ???
