But I think >75-80C will reduce the lifespan of the chip by gradually decaying it (just like the safe temperature in desktop processors). As long as it's not chunky peanut butter pretty much anything will be better than a laptop's stock TIM application. They even sent me a gtx680 to replace the 7970m and let me do the work myself so I didn't have to mail the laptop back to them.
