What's the max I should let my i7 3610QM hit? Its the cpu on my laptop, and AFTER shutting down F@H, I saw temps in excess of 85 C.

To be safe you should try to restrict the max temperature to ~70C.

Unless you are board with your laptop and want to kill it quickly. :P

105 is the max. Even temps in the mid 90s are nothing to be worried about IMHO.

^^ 105 is theoretical max at which the chip can run without getting damaged, right? :dunno: But I think >75-80C will reduce the lifespan of the chip by gradually decaying it (just like the safe temperature in desktop processors).

Yeah, stock Tim. Is as5 still viable?

Yeah. As long as it's not chunky peanut butter pretty much anything will be better than a laptop's stock TIM application. Most of the ones i've redone they just spluge it on like a porn star and call it a day.

I wouldn't unless your warranty is over...

My warranty is still intact. They even sent me a gtx680 to replace the 7970m and let me do the work myself so I didn't have to mail the laptop back to them.
