Will Phenom II x4 955 and Radeon 6750HD 1GB run with this power supply

Recommended Posts

I do not plan on overclocking it since it seems to be powerful enough to play Assasin's Creed III. Yeah, I'm doing this for a game :| . But I am aware of other softwares that are consuming like that Studio Max for 3d.

I only have a fan that works on the Sempron processor. The other is of course from the video card. I have a fan that is attached on the lid but I have no idea how to attach the power supply to it. I cannot see another cable for attachment.

I would recommend one of these PSU's over a 700w unit for that setup, even if you do upgrade to a better GFX card in the near future:

I guess I'll be going for the Antec Neo then. But the FSP Hexa is still a good deal, right?

I forgot to ask about the Maximum Power.

The TDP of Phenom II x4 is 125W
http://techreport.com/review/16796/amd-phenom-ii-x4-955-processor

And the Radeon 6750 HD has 450W power requirement, I believe.

Summing them all is 575W. And the motherboard, the memory sticks, HDD, optical drive, and yeah the fans are not yet included. Is a branded 500W viable for this build?

Thanks to your replies especially to wardozerx. :)

....

TDP is not about max power but rather thermals. Your system would only need at max power around 300 watts so the 500 should be fine.

Ok I see.

Looks like I lacked research about TDP. I thought it's like the required power.

I googled about the max board power(and even used Bing). I found out that even the 6850 has a max board power of 127W.

The Bing didn't have a correction feature when I mispelled on the search box. And it suggests less compared to google.
