NCC10281982B Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Dear microsoft, You need to sort out your prioirties. I honestly do not give a flying flober worm's ass about whatever the fork windows update wants to do "in the background". That update is less inmportand than my task. Got it? The bottom line is I have had to reboot 3 times in the past hour and this laptop is so bogged down that it is unuesable. Enough already! http://youtu.be/CPRvc2UMeMI
El_Capitan Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 You can always set your Windows Updates to never check, or automatically download but not install, and also automatically download and install. It's default set to automatically download and install.
NCC10281982B Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Yeah, just fixed that. I just with this "background" process was less of a foreground PITA.
Waco Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 If the default wasn't automatic we'd have even more botnets to deal with...
HarryTaco Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 The first thing I do, when doing a new install is to disable automatic updates. I do my own from time to time, and it has been working well that way for at least ten years. Having an Automatic Update ruin your gaming experience or some other thing you are doing is blood boiling. Waco Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I let Windows download mine whenever it wants to, then apply them before shutting down each time.

Got tired of being used as a test dummy for Microsoft !
