SOLVED Help Please - BSOD - nvlddmkm.sys

Get BSOD everytime I boot up and it's pointing towards nvlddmkm.sys.

Reading on the internet all the "cures" involve actually running Windows and getting at the file which I can't.

PC locks up with just mouse cursor on screen if I try Safe Mode.

Any ideas?

Sometimes that error might occur if you have certain USB devices attached while booting up, oddly enough. Try disabling any USB devices (aside from the mouse and keyboard), and see if that helps. Otherwise, it's probably the graphics card, or NVIDIA driver.

Spot on Waco!

I mistakenly thought it was driver related but one of my 460's is dicky.

Time for a more up-to-date graphics card perhaps?

An Nvidia driver error at boot almost always means a busted GPU (or at least one that needs some serious TLC).  If you remove the Nvidia driver it'll probably work just fine in 2D mode (and you could try bumping the driver to the newest version) but I'd put good money on the card having bit the dust.
