UPDATE::: So with the IB coming and I saved some more cash for the build I wanted to share what I am building for my daughter, My computer works great, and I did get myself a small upgrade which I'll point out in the list below: She is getting: Antec 1100 Case ASRock Z77 Extreme6 i5-3570K G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7850 2GB Mushkin 120GB SATA III SSD Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb ASUS 24X SATA DVD Burner PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 750W Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit And the small upgrade to my rig in my sig: OCZ Vertex Plus 120GB SATA II SSD So, I want to say thanks to the forum for your advice and help in getting this built! Hello super smart computer people! I am a long time reading and this is the best spot for one stop shopping adivce on computers and great advice! So now that I have kissed up to who ever chooses to read this, let me tell you why I'm here! I'm going to build my daughter a rig for her school work and gaming. She likes to play WoW, Mass effect, D3 when it comes out, and elder scrolls. She currently hogs my computer since its the only one in the house that can play all those games on the ultra settings. I want to make hers gaming centered with a cheap budget. This is what I was looking at for a build, there will be no overclocking of any kind on this. Comments would be helpful. Hey its been awhile since i've posted anything here, but I really think your build is....well....off. I think once people start reading this they will hook you right up with something that looks much more beast. I am at work and the Navy does not like newegg for some reason or I would post my thoughts....but I envy you!! I wish I had that much to spend on a new rig! I would say just pick a forum topic and start reading. There is a ton of info about everything. You said you are looking to spend $500, is that on EVERYTHING, or is that just for the case and what goes inside? If you are going to need a monitor, mouse, and keyboard it might be hard to make budget. If you are just aiming for the case and internals, then I think you should be able to squeak in around 500.

Well all the parts are ordered and I guess we will see what kind of numbers I can throw up. I'll Post some stock numbers then when its all OC as much as I can on Air. Just so people can get an idea of what this build can do.

Good call on the ram, I swapped it out. Still work on the GPU. Thinking of that GTX285 with 2g. Just not sure if that is to much lol

I was going to pick up the GTX275, but after reading I was not sure. I think I can swing the GTX285. I just didn't want to spend money on something I would not be using to its fullest. If I did go with the GTX285 would the 1g or 2g be better and not overkill.

Well I figured it was time for a new rig when my old one just was not getting the graphic setting off the low end. Below is the rig I intend to buy today or tomorrow. Going to give it some time for you wonderful people to review and make comments if needed. I'm hoping to play just about any game on max setting or very close to it. Any thoughts on something that should be changed to make that happen I'm open to thoughts. Thanks as always!!! Ok, I think I'm set on getting a GTX something. I'm going to building an new rig and I've read so much about the 275 being great and the 285 and 295 are wonderful as well, as long as its not wasted on the display. I will still be rocking my old 22" CRT since I'm not mobile. It's resolution can do up to 2048x1536 at 85hertz. Now the rest of the new rig is going to be quite nice, with all the best bang for the buck items. This is the only part I can not get a solid choice on. So with my display should I get: 1 GTX 275 and maybe one later on or 2 now or 1 GTX 285 or if i can swing the price 1 GTX 285 This will be the last part before I can give newegg my money Also if the 4980's would be a better choice then please speak on that as well. I'm looking to play just about any game out there on full settings Thanks

I just want to suggest something to the ADMIN of this site. A REALLY good idea you could use to help a lot of new people and lazy people lol, to make a sticky/pinned post of Best bang for your buck price ranges. Then people would not post asking people to rate their computer when its one item off the post below the person would make. I'm sure there are very computer smart people that could whip a list together rather fast. I would say something like just what's in the case in brackets starting at 800, 1200, 1500, and 1500+ all on air cooling. Water or better would be more but that would be a new sticky. It would be something like: 800 and below: Case: Case 1, Case 2, Case 3 Motherboards: mobo #1, Mobo #2 mobo#3 CPU: #1, #2, #3 Memory etc GPU etc HD etc PSU etc Just an idea to limit the amount posts in this forum.
