Gremlin Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 So 580Gtx has stopped working. I can still see video without the drivers installed. I am in the market for a video card.. A friend is selling his ATI 270X for 100 Somone else is selling his 680 gtx for $299? ain' t that little pricey since newegg has a deal for 770 Gtx for $313 with $20 rebate for $293 I am thinking of going for the newegg deal.. I use the card on 30" inch dell I am tempted to go for the $100 card but I am afraid of having driver issues and card going bad.. Any ideas recommendations would help.. IVIYTH0S Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 how much are 280x's these days? yeah that 680's way too much unless it was factory sealed, and even then! haha
Gremlin Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 280x runs around $250.. I mean I had gtx 580 after like 4 months after it released so it has lasted for 3 years. I dont want to spend on the 680 and go bad on me again.. Are 270X good or should I go for the 770Gtx?
Minime 939 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) Newegg has the Sapphire 280x for $239, I would go that route. NCIX has the Club3D 280x for $249. I got the XFX280X for $229.99 a few weeks ago and I'm really liking it. The cheapest 770 GTX is $310 at NCIX. IVIYTH0S Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I'd go for the 280x the 770 is just too much more for essentially the same performance. No warranty left on the 580?
Gremlin Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 580 is out of warranty
IVIYTH0S Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 ah, twas worth a shot...well I'm another personally recommend the 280x since I technically own one in sheep's clothing and it's marvelous
Gremlin Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) I visited EvGa site to check for waranty first 280x 2 year wwarranty.. 770 3 year warranty.. Edited August 13, 2014 by Gremlin
SpikeSoprano Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I'd go with the 770, strong card, better warranty, and no amd driver issues. jmho
IVIYTH0S Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I visited EvGa site to check for waranty first 280x 2 year wwarranty.. 770 3 year warranty.. Just get a model with a longer warranty period then lol, not all 280x's will have 2 years of warranty I'd go with the 770, strong card, better warranty, and no amd driver issues. jmho No problems here... the 280x is equal to better with technically more potential and is much cheaper. And as said above, just get a 280x with a better warranty if that's a concern
