Looking into a smaller case

Recommended Posts

I currently have a modded* Cooler Master 690 advanced II case and i am happy with its performance.

But i would like to have a different case this time around as i am looking at it for almost 2 years now.

The reason i want a smaller case is that i can take it with me easier due to its smaller form factor.

I sometimes want to take my pc to my moms place so i can game there as well and the cooler master is just a tad too big to travel with it.

SO!

I am searching for a quality case with about 3/4th of the size of the Cooler Master case i currently have.

It needs to have a side fan attachment and enough room for my components to fit (see signature for specs)

I suppose my budget would be around 60~ euro's and i would probably buy the case from one of these sites:

The links are already in the case department, so it is easier for you non-dutch speaking/reading lads ;P

I am willing to stretch my budget, but no more than a 100 euro's (the less the better imo).

* Removed the HDD brackets so i have room for the front fan to actually give some airflow, only have 1HDD and 1 SDD so it fits nice and easy.

The Fractal Design Arc Mini is a great choice but if you want small then the Cooler Master N200 or the Silverstone Temjin TJ08B-E are some of the best choices. The Define Mini is really cool as well, for the absolute best the Caselabs Mercury S5 but that is well outside your budget.

My choice would also be the Fractal Design Arc Mini R2, or the Corsair 350D. However, they're both only for mini-iTX or M-ATX form factors. Since I take it that you're only wanting to get a smaller case, but sticking with a full ATX form factor, I'd recommend the NZXT Source 210 Elite. Even though it's all plastic, I've done three builds with it, and I use it to house my server with 8 HDD's in RAID 10. Since it's all plastic, you might have to be careful carrying it around, but it'll be light to carry. It will be a tight fit for longer graphics cards, but you can also remove the HDD trays since you're not using a lot of SSD/HDD's.

I've gotten the case for around $40 or less every time, so it's well worth the price. I also prefer the white version. :P

The  Cooler Master N200 caught my attention.

It is really cheap (33 euro's) and it is the small formfactor i was looking for.

But one thing i have noticed that worries me, it says micro atx and mini itx, i doubt my ASUS maximus is either of those xD

Thanks for the recommendation! :) (and you too El_capitan :P)
