Seagate has released a third-generation hybrid drive that combines SLC NAND flash memory on board a 2.5" hard drive to boost performance of the traditional mechanical drive. I like these pros....

Also does OCC have like recommended HDD, SDD CPU (or anything) of the year? Like the best product out of all those reviewed for that year? It would even be cool if OCC built a PC using only those parts and called it the "PC of year" or something. I think CPU and maximumPC do this to.

Well, price is a little bit of a factor, still. Before the floodings that affected HDD prices, a 1TB HDD for $45 and a 64GB SSD for $60, you end up with 250GB more space, 32GB more cache, and save $130.

 

The pricing on the drive changed this week. Before that it was substantially lower. Finding 2.5 inch form factor 1TB drives with this kind of performance to put into a laptop is like finding chickens teeth. For the regular PC there are better options but not for the mobile side.
