IVIYTH0S Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Where are you looking to buy these cards?? Would you consider going used?? The 770 is easily the strongest of the three you mentioned, but used you could probably save some money on one (the 770...maybe even a 4GB model of it) or a 7970 (280X) or a 7950 (280) wouldn't be bad
El_Capitan Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 The R9 270 is basically an HD 7850 2GB. At 1080P, that's all that you really need. They overclock really well, too, in case you ever need an extra boost.
Madmullen Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) I normally go to Overclockers.co.uk or Dabs, dont buy used as you dont know how long they will last. I have got the money to get R9 280 or 290 but I think that would be over kill and I not sure if I have enough power. ccokeman Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Look at what performs best in the games you play. The R9 280X and GTX 770 both do well at 1920x1080.
Madmullen Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I have been compairing the MSI cards GTX760 4gb & GTX770 2gb at the moment they are both priced the same and their is not a lot in the configuration other then I could get 2gb more mem if I go for the GTX760. Power comsumption is less as well.
slick2500 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 At 1920x1080 you will not benefit from 4gb of vram.

usama7 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I'd say go for the toxic. It'll stay around 55C during gaming and overclocks really good.
cjloki Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I'd say go for the toxic. It'll stay around 55C during gaming and overclocks really good. this, and it's hard to beat the sapphire quality and service...top notch !

WarWeeny Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 This is a pretty sweet deal: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-045-KF&groupid=701&catid=1914 On the red side, this is what i would recommend: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-322-SP&groupid=701&catid=56 Both are priced quite good and both are pretty much equal in performance. As others have stated, going above 2GB is not really worth your money (although that sapphire has 3GB) as you play on 1920x1080.
