DanTheGamer11 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) Hiya guys,I'll list my specs first then list the problem, thanks for reading CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 95W(101W in CPU-Z)(Turbo off, stock speeds)Mobo: Asrock N68C GS FXRam:CORSAIRXMS2 4GB(2x2GB) 1066Mhzhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145215Video Card: XFX Core Ed. AMD HD 7950PSU: CM GX650W BronzeOther: 500GB WD Caviar Black, NEC DVD drive, USB 3.0 PCIE X1 Controller, some Fans. Scythe Zipang cooler. My problem is that when running Prime95 at stock(no Turbocore, AMD C State off, CnQ off, Throttling off, RAM at 800Mhz) it fails(PC shuts down by self) after about the 2nd 8K test on Blend setting. I want to know what's going on and a solution please. Extra info: 1066Mhz on the RAM is unstable as it BSODs after the 2nd 1024K test and the CPU reached 58C before the PC shuts down automatically. Ram is bad?*EDIT*Moments before disaster: Edited December 1, 2013 by DanTheGamer11
kyfire Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 What kind of temps were you getting while running Prime?
VaporX Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Gut reaction is RAM.
DanTheGamer11 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 What kind of temps were you getting while running Prime? 58 before it shut down, but that's the Asrock OC software, I tried using HWmonitor and something else but it gave odd temps like 13C idle. The caps near the socket were hot too as was the ram modules. @ComputerEd - Me too, I tried 1066Mhz with 2.2V and it still BSODs. I plan to RMA the sticks if that is what everybody is saying. DanTheGamer11 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 First pass complete with no errors at 800Mhz, once the second pass is done I'll up it to 1066Mhz. Does it still seem the RAM is the problem?
feetfats Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Another idea is to run the tests with only one stick of ram at a time.

Umm...why ever run it at 800Mhz? If it can't run its stock settings then it's bad, simple as that.
DanTheGamer11 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I left it overnight at 1066Mhz.. Finished 5 and a half passes without errors before I had to leave. I'll test them individually when I get back! Starting to think it isn't the ram... Even though it's speed affects how quick is BSODs
Braegnok Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) The software you are using to monitor temps could be inaccurate,.. 58c is vary close to max of 62c on your processor. you can experiment by removing both side panels and putting a desk top fan blowing directly on motherboard while retesting with prime95 Blend,.. see if you can complete 2nd 1024K test with more air flow. DanTheGamer11 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I used the asrock oc one, the hwininfo64 is within 2 degrees C while HWMonitor is between 13-25C which is completely wrong. I'll try with another fan at mosfets and maybe another heatsink
