  1. Maybe another graphics card for SLI/Crossfire configuration?
  2. Do you think theres anything else that can be improved? In the future I want to be able to have more fan support.
  3. You know...for the same price you can get 100 more watts and a fully modular PSU. Corsair RM Series 750Watt PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139055
  4. Just to be safe and for long lasting life on your system, use a 500Watt power supply. PSU tend to lose power over time.
  5. I'm not very fond of reference designs. They tend to have mediocure coolers. Try to go for an aftermarket one if you can. I plan on getting the MSI GTX 770 for my current MSI Z87-GD65 build.
  6. YEAH! FIRST POST! (Sorry got a little excited) What's up ladies and gentalmen of the OCC, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kyle. I'm an avid computer enthusiast and first time builder from the NW of the USA. I have wandered here due to a review on a product from a google search. It was the product that I actually ordered (It was the Enermax ETS-T40 Black CPU Cooler). I'm glad to find a place to give people advice and find resourcefull information. I hope to have the best time on here. Anyways I wanted to get an opinion on this build. Maybe some advice for a first time builder like me? *Shrug* I started collecting these parts one at a time. Most of them I have installed and some that I'm currently getting. Currently the build is incomplete but will be finish within a couple of weeks (Due to fnds). I will Have pictures of the completed build posted. This build was made in mind for gaming on a HDTV and wanted to experiment with OC. I might do a SLI configuration in the future. THE BLACKLIST CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K 3.4 GHz I didn't want to spend more money then I have to or a CPU that I would be mostly gaming with. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899 Motherboard: MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming Series The features were appealing to me. An easy OC button, Killer Ethernet and just the gloomy red theme. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130692 Case: ZALMAN Z12 Midtower Case I actually window shopped this one. I liked the build quality of it and the carbon filters for the fans. I was on a budget at the time that I bought this. (By the way if someone has the clear windows for this I would buy it from you.) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811235040 Power Supply Unit: Corsair RM Series 850watt PSU It was hard for me to find a quality power supply that was fully modular without breaking all kindzzz of wallets. I didn't relize when I order this online, it was overlapping the bottom mountaing point for a fan. Still, wanted great quality. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139056&Tpk=corsair%20rm%20850 RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 It was on sale at the time on Newegg for 67.99. Not bad. Plus wanted to fit the "Dragon Red" theme. I knew that if I bought a higher HRz rate, I wouldn't really get much increase in performance (to my extent of knowing at least) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231455 Graphics Card: MSI NIVIDIA GTX 770 Twin Frozer 2GB I wanted to take atvantage of the price drop that NVIDIA annouced. I love NVIDIA. Can't get enough of their website for driver support. Plus to make sure of any chance I don't have compatibility issues, I wanted to get relitivly the same brand that my motherboard was. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741 CPU Cooler: Enermax ETS-T40-BK I noticed on OCC review that the ETS ran a little bit cooler then the Cooler Master 212 EVO. Nice to see OCC did a cooler comparison instead of just the results of one cooler. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835214041 Solid State Drive: SAMSUNG 840 Pro 128GB I never had a SSD before. Wanted to invigorate the power of the SSD. I also wanted something that was going to last me a very long time. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147193 Hard Drive: Western Digital WD AV-GP WD10EURX 1TB If I wanted to game, I knew I had to get plenty of storage that was fast and reliable. I didn't want to cheat myself out of not getting a SATA III HDD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136941 Case Fans: (1) Cougar CF-V12HPB (2) Cougar CF-V14HB I wanted a high bearing fan set that would push a lot of air out of my case. The design of these fans were appealing to me and seemed like a good buy at the time http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553007 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553006 Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate Just my preference. Some games are not compatible with windows 8. If you guys like my build or think that I should improve on anything let me know
