yuridude Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I had this in my shopping cart, but could not pull the trigger. One day though! I will man up and pay the premium for one.
ClayMeow Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Awesome performance, but "premium" is an understatement. Aren't tech prices supposed to go down over time, not up? Man, the first manufacturer that can figure out how to put out an affordable SSD will rake it in.

ccokeman Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 That price is using 23nm MLC NAND so just imagine 34nm pricing for that drive!
RJR Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I've had a Vertex 3, 240 GB for a little over two months now and it's performance numbers are unreal but using it against a much slower and older Patriot Torqx 128 GB drive, I really don't notice a massive difference in performance for everyday use. Using a platter drive vs either one of the SSD's and you REALLY notice the difference. No problems with it though, unlike the Patriot when I first got it, but it's been good now too after the RMA. Waco Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Nice looking drive...but I think it'll be a while before something comes out that will "blow away" my pair of Indilinx drives in RAID 0.
Black64 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Man, the first manufacturer that can figure out how to put out an affordable SSD will rake it in. Until then I can wait. Wow! 560 bucks for 240GB?!?!
