Video cards running a bit hot

I noticed on one of my folding rigs that the gpu process kept failing and I would get artifacts on the screen.. upon further investigations I realized the pump for the gpu loop had stopped working, When I pulled the pump assembly out I saw the problem..

Guess the pump was getting a bit hot too :wallbash:

The older MCP350 series pumps PCB gets real hot with continuous use, and are prone to failure. They make heatsink kits for them that are supposed to eliminate the problem, but if you have the room I would just run the bulletproof 655 instead

I have the 655 and it has been running 24/7 for literally years.

Yea, my 655 is the first pump I ever bought and it's still running :)

If I recall correctly, it was for a Q6600 with 2 4870's build when they first came out, and for the past year or 2 it was on one of my folding rigs (i7-920). I currently have that one apart and am transferring my i7-3930k over to that system (which has a mcp355 that also has been running for a couple  years.. the res top has changed but the pump remains the same..)
