Someone mentioned racial tensions, which still makes me wonder... Why the hell is race such a big deal in America? You always have to be careful not to offend someone, etc. In Europe, if someone is black, they're black. If they don't like it, they tell you what they like to be called, you call them that, and that's it, no violence. This is something I really don't understand...

And then on top of that you have the NAACP and all those other stupid organizations instigating and riling everybody up over nothing...

You my friend have struck the nail on the head. That is the only reason i would go back to Europe, but i would end up here again, i hate socialists worse than racists..

@Hyper-Threaded

Ignorance you say? Pffft.

Pulling the race card is just a poor example of a person using that tool as a means to an end. It was a poor choice of words from the person who is supposed to represent the country not press a specific agenda. I want to know about all the "kids" killed by another race that did not make the news. What about them? What makes Trayvon Martin so special? What makes the rest unimportant?

There are just as many racists in every ethnic group. We like to be around creatures of our own kind and jealously close in when attacked.  We meaning all people. I do not care what ethnicity you are its ingrained in our DNA.  You look at the efforts to desegregate the country. What happened? Ethnic groups return to their own over and over. Again Ethnic being any and all ethnicities.

Get real and think about how ignorant your statement was.

So much ignorance in this thread, nothing but right wing crap.

This is all so amusing to me. Just because I have a difference of opinion, you people have to attack me. This is exactly why I rarely frequent these forums.

Hey, at least I know where you get news from now.

Not an attack at all but pointing out the issues with your comment.  When you call someone ignorant because their point of view you have to expect a defensive statement back. Its called dialogue.

Ok I'm not American, I thought Bush was an idiot, I thought Obama would of been an improvement, but what I can't get my head around is an unarmed young man was shot by a grown man with a gun, what does it matter that he was black, white or green with purple spots, he got shot minding his own business.

Ok I'm not American, I thought Bush was an idiot, I thought Obama would of been an improvement, but what I can't get my head around is an unarmed young man was shot by a grown man with a gun, what does it matter that he was black, white or green with purple spots, he got shot minding his own business.

The scenario is a bit more complicated than that. The young man was wondering a neighborhood and the watch person did not recognize him. So the watch person, over stepping his position, confronted the kid. The kids, as the evidence indicates, over reacted badly and the watch person freaked out.

The result is a horrible tragedy where both sides on wrong. The verdict in this case however seems right. Under the law the murder charge requires premeditation. In other words this guy planned in advance to kill the kid and there is nothing to suggest this.

The next question being raised is was this kid marked for being black. I think this is not a fair question. The scenario does not change based on color, we have no proof because the intent is only in the heart of Zimmerman, there is no way to say otherwise.
