  1. I just finished installing all my drivers and doing updates. i love my new rig. it can max bc2 (my fav fps) high res with max graphics. thank you all guys
  2. Just got the parts in the mail. Time to get building my rig. so excited . EDIT: WOW the motherboard wasn't with everything, so I called newegg and it turns out they sent it separately then I went and tracked it on ups. which said it will come tomorrow that isn't that bg of a hit but i was hoping to go play BFBC2 today. oh well . happens
  3. Thank you for the compliment!. I only want a sound card so that when I play battlefield it sounds amazing. the beats thing is just a hobby. I do them digitally BTW
  4. I ended up getting the Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core. I think I am going to be really happy with my choice of cpu also. What do you guys think of it. Is this a good CPU for gaming and how easy is it to overclocking if needed at some point. I don't think I will need to overclock it though because it's a Quad-Core clocked at a stock 3.0GHz seems high enough for gaming and producing beats. The only downfall I made was I forgot to buy a DVD drive to install my OS. but my brother said he will remove his and put it in mine to install the OS than take it back My god I love this forum you guys seem so intelligent/knowledgeable about this stuff seeing as I am not and I am just starting to learn. jsyk I will be around this forum alot from now on. this is 10/10 for a computer forum. I just love it. It is a little hobby of mine I just got into. I took most of IVIYTH0S advice on the HDD and the cooler and mostly everything else( thank you for the parts you picked I think they will work great great). I end ed up getting Kingston RAM though because of money constraints seeing as it was about 10.00$ cheaper. I ended up getting a case from a family member that I am going to customize with my Father.(he is an Engineer) We want to drill extra mini fans on the side for better airflow. Also cut designs in it and place acrylic plate in the spots. I think it will look really cool because we are all going to paint it tie-dye. Right now it is black. I will make a thread when I start doing it so I can show you guys pictures of the designs I just need to start sketching them, so I can get ideas. it will be great i promise you that lol. Hey El_Capitan seeing as you live not so far away from me I am willing to buy parts from you as long as we meet in person. Because I was wondering if you had any sound cards available to sell, I am just not sure i they are worth it, but sound quality is very important to me (producing and games). SO I was wondering about prices and brand or if I could just buy whatever you have for one you don't use. (for the right price of course) Oh and sorry about the rambling I was a little tipsy and I was on my back pain medication. EDIT: one more thing. If my brother can't help me build this would one of the smart people on here help me build it via web-cam or something like that. the guides here are very helpful but It would be easier to have a tutor doing it. I will reimburse If ou do a good job with a video game o your choice through steam. ( I can't spend too much on it so choose wisely please.f CPU: .sl http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808&cm_re=AMD_Phenom_II_X4_955-_-19-103-808-_-Product Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131402 HDD: Seagate 500GB http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822148701 PSU: Xigmatek 500W $25 after MIR ($45 before) http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817815008 Cooler: Sunbeam Core Contact 120mm $15 http://forums.overcl...pic=181431&st=0 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.?Item=N82E16820104203 (Did I make a good choice getting this brand of RAM?)
  5. How does the mail-n rebate work? do they send it to me in a pre-paid card or something like that? I'm probaly going to order the parts today so thank you all for the help and if you guys have any last minute suggestions that would be great.
  6. Well thank you for your opinion but now I am having a hard time choosing between them. May I ask you to give me some pros and cons of both of them? God I hope I get this rig built before Brink come out. got about 12 days :/. I would love to go with the cheaper one so I put the extra money towards other parts or a keyboard. I was looking into buying the Logitech G15, but I have not read any reviews on it so I don't know if it is good for gaming. Anyone on here who has experience with it I would be grateful for some feedback on said keyboard. One more question. With the current rig that you guys are helping me build. What kind of game do you think I would be able to play. at first I am not sure what GPU I am going to have, but my friend said almost 1 1/2 years ago it cost him 250-300$ and that is was a Nvidia Geforce series, but didn't give me anymore information than that, also when I am.going to upgrade my GPU what would you guys advice me to buy. I could probably spend around 250-300$ leaning more towards 300$ and like I said before I might be getting RAM for free and possible other stuff, I am just not sure yet. what of monitor would you guys use that is in the price range of about 70-100$. Also concerning the link you showed me of people selling parts on here. Is this website a legit place to buy thing from other people. it would seem a s sketchy to me unless I saw it running via webcam or met the person in real life. I was checking out El Capitan's thread for his stuff for sale and I notice he only lives about 40 minutes from my town (I am from southern New Hampshire) so I wouldn't mind buying something like that on here because I could meet the person in real life. You know what I mean. thanks again for the help. Please leave more feedback, also I am sorry how long this post is I am a little off right now right now.
  7. Hey BTW I also do not need a OS anymore I have that taken care of also, and I have a friend who said he might have some extra ddr3 ram. I was looking into getting the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core if any of you OCC people have opinions on that cpu and what will go good with it and how it will perform for gaming and it's overclocking capabilities. thank you guys for the fast replies they have been very helpful. also the games I want to play on this rig will be games like brink/team fortress 2/Battlefield:bad Company 2/ maybe CoD:mw1 among some other games. mostly FPS and rpg's are what I play. I really like this forum I think I will be sticking around for a while so I can learn more about computers because I am pretty naive about ATM and I would love to learn more and mote. PS: i might also have enough money left over to get a keyboard so I was looking into the Logitech G15 and I was wondering if that is a good keyboard for what I want to do. EDIT: also I really don't have a use for a 500GIG HDD. If I got a 250GIG HDD would there a decent price difference or should i just go with the 500GIG HDD. all the ones I can find are just a few dollars less than the one you linked me too.
  8. I am trying to figure out all the parts I am going to use for my first build. I am going to be using this computer for gaming but I only have only 500$ to spend atm. but the thing is I don't need to buy the GPU right away, I have a friend who said he is going to help me out until i have the money to buy one. (he didn't say what the card was) I am going to need every other part except for the monitor/mouse/keyboard. i am pretty bad when it come to doing stuff like this. I really appreciate the help.
