  1. I haven't played any of the Dirt series games. Are they good, I've been thinking about getting 2 and 3!
  2. I'm waiting for AMD's Bulldozer series to be released! It's supposed to put them back in the game as far as cpu power goes. Supposed tot give Intel a run for its money, but I'm waiting on it before I build a new machine.
  3. It's not really OCing it,..I just want to set turbo boost to run @ 2.9 when ever I want it too.
  4. I recently bought an Asus G73sw laptop and a USB 3.0 1tb Seagate Freeagent external HD. Loving the G73, plays any game I throw at it!
  5. I have it set to High Performance Mode with all the power saving options turned off, unless of course I'm on battery.
  6. I've searched and searched the internet all over the place and still can't find anything on being able to OC my new Asus G73sw laptops cpu. So does anyone know how to overclock the Asus g73sw's CPU? No option in bios and its the newest bios out. It's 2.0ghz stock and 2.9ghz turbo boost...I would like to be able to set it at 2.9ghz constant when needed instead of relying on turbo boost. Hell, prime95 only makes it run at 2.6ghz. Does pretty good as far as benchmarking on stock speeds, though I have the GPU (460m running at - Core 880mhz, Shader 1750mhz and Memory 1625, which is maxed in MSI afterburner) - 630 in Heaven and 16,941 in 3dmark06...neither make it run at 2.9ghz though Heaven keeps it at stock 2.0ghz, and 3dmark06 pushes it to 2.5ghz. Temps are great to, I must say this is the coolest running laptop I've seen in a while! I just want tp be able to set the CPU to the clock speed I want it and even push it past 2.9 to see the full potential of this new toy of mine! Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
  7. AMD's are awesome for the bang for your buck aspect. I pretty much only game so there really isn't a need for an I7 build, I just want one after seeing how fast this laptops I7 is lol. I have and it didn't, might just be the lower class motherboard....I have yet to try it on the 790 or 890 chip set, really don't need to now, only thing hooked up to it is an HDMI cord ran to my upstairs Vizio, wireless keyboard n mouse. I use it as my media PC...I have well over 1tb ofnothing but 1080p movies and tv seasons on the HD's lol. Anyone know how to over clock the g73 laptop? No option in bios and its the newest bios out. It's 2.0ghz stock and 2.9ghz turbo boost...I would like to be able to set it at 2.9ghz constant when needed instead of relying on turbo boost. Hell prime 95 only makes it run at 2.6ghz. 8. All Hopped up on pain meds!

  9. I love Bob and Tom and the Mr. Obvious show lol. I grew up on that stuff. Thanks all for the welcomes, I've heard nothing but good things about this community and I will do what I can to help. I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to PCs, mainly on the AMD side when it comes to OCing but I plan on building an Intel build soon. I've already listed my main rig in my first post/ 2nd Rig Mobo MSI 790fx-gd70 CPU - Phenom II 955 @ 4.0ghz Ram - 4 gigs Patriot Viper 1333mhz GPU - 2 5770's xfired, one Saphire, one XFX HD - 2 1tb Hitachi Deckstars PSU - 700w Rocketfsh case - Antec 902 3rd rig (Media PC) Mobo - MSI 785GTM-E45 cpu - AMD Athlon II X3 450 (stock Ram - 4 gigs Patriot Viper 1333mhz GPU - MSI 5770 HD - 2 1tb Hstachi Deckstars PSU - I totlally forget the name (I'm currently in Boston, MA and have no way of checking. 700w though Case - Antec 902 4 (laptop) (Just bought after this face transplant surgery) Asus g73sw laptop CPU - I7-2630QM 2.0ghz and 2.9ghz with Turbo core RAM - 8 Gigs Samsung DDR3 GPU - GTX 460m HD - Seagate 750gb
  10. I've been playing EvE online since early 2006, almost have 70 million skill points. I mainly pvp. I'm just waiting for waking in stations, which will bring a whole new crowd of players to the game! I've tried DC online, it definitely has potential but it's also ran by SOE so who knows....they seem to mess up every game they make or buy out from another company. I will definitely try out the new Star Wars game that is coming soon. EvE character name is Kyden.
  11. It did enter my left leg, exited my face and right hand, so it did travel through most of my body. I do have a blow out spot almost right above my heart, as well as down my left arm but, I have no idea if it actually went through my heart and or brain though. My family was told that if I did survive that I would be either deaf, blind, dumb or all 3. Which as you can see I'm not any of those. Thanks everyone for the support and kind words. I will continue to keep everyone updated on the recovery process. In the mean time does anyone know how to OC the cpu on an Asus g73sw laptop, or at least keep it at the turbo boost setting of 2.9.ghz. Can't do it through bios as there aren't any overclocking options.
  12. I have to correct a mistake my brother made as well. It was roughly 10,000 volts of electricity and 7 amps. Electrical specialists say .5 amps can kill a man and it only takes 500-1200 volts to kill a man in the electric chair. I was on the line close to 5 minutes. The electricity had entered my left leg and the majority of it exited my face. When I was finally pulled off the line they said the bones in my face were glowing red! Ironically I flat lined twice on the way to the hospital and they used the shock paddles to shock me back to life lol. I was in a drug induced coma for almost a month and was in the hospital for another month and a half - 2 1/2 months all together. I was in and out of the hospital for 3-4 years following the accident for reconstructive surgeries. If I had not received this transplant I still had about another 2-3 years left of reconstruction surgery on my face and right hand. I will have a few minor nip/tuck type surgeries in the future, but nothing major. I'll keep this thread updated with newer pics as the swelling goes down.
  13. My older brother "SpeedwayNative" has been wanting me to be more active on this site since I've signed up a while back, but life for me has been very busy. I too, like most of you, build my own PCs and love overclocking to get the most potential out of them. I currently own 3 Desktops and 1 laptop. All 3 desktops are AMD and my laptop is an Asus g73sw My main pc specs are: Mobo - Asus Crosshair IV cpu - 1090t @ 4.3 ghz ram - 4 gigs patriot viper 1600mhz GPU - 2 XFX BE 6870's HD - Corsair 64gb ssd + 1tb Hitachi deckstar PSU - Thermaltake 850W case - Antec 1200 CPU cooling - H50 push/pull. This is the reason I haven't been an active member yet
  14. This is SpeedwayNative's little brother who received the Nations 2nd full face transplant. I'm just amazed at how far medical science has advanced since my original accident almost 10 years ago. It has been one hell of a journey. I'll post links of the media coverage, you can also google "Mitch Hunter Face transplant" and see all the recent coverage and past coverage while I was being evaluated as a candidate for such a new procedure. If you have any questions, I am an open book and will try to get every single one answered! I am also thinking about doing a live skype Q&A in the near future with a live cam stream. Keep in mind I am still very swollen in these videos, so I don't look what I will look like once all of the healing is complete. Once the swelling goes down and the tissue conforms to my bone structure I will look more and more like I should at the age of 30 years old if the accident never happened. All proceeds will help fund the living/recovery cost while in Boston and will also help cover what my insurance doesn't. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Even donations of knowing I have your support to even saying "hope you have a speedy recvovery". Knowing I have the support of complete strangers and fellow computer nerds ( I am one too) is worth more than any dollar amount. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=UUH3QE2AN7GXG Thanks all for taking the time to read this.
