Need help finding a good affordable laptop
TehStranger replied to MrKage's topic in Miscellaneous Hardware
My laptop could do that easy. It is an Acer V3-571G and it only cost me $620 AUD, there are a few with the exact same model name but with differenct hardware specs so beware. Mine has an i5 3210M with 4GB DDR3 RAM and a GT630M 1GB graphics chip and a 500GB hard drive and comes with Windows 8. Edit: Forgot to mention the screen is 15" -
The Official 'i Just Bought...' Thread
TehStranger replied to kingdingeling's topic in OCC Member's Lounge
I just bought another VE278Q -
I would go with a core i3. Get a cheap 64GB SSD for boot (I recommend any intel or maybe an OCZ agilty 4) and a 500GB or 1TB for storage 8GB of ram might be a bit too much but I also think 4GB would almost be a bit too little so I personally would go with 8GB, as for the motherboard just grab a cheap mATX asus board.

Here you go http://www.amazon.com/MSI-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-N670-2GD5/dp/B008BGXYAS/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1361297692&sr=8-6&keywords=gtx+670 or if you want http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-DisplayPort-Graphics-02G-P4-2680-KR/dp/B007KC1R3A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361297755&sr=8-1&keywords=gtx+680 Can't go wrong with either one, personally I would go with the 680 if I wanted a single gpu solution but I would get the 670 if I wanted SLI, both are great cards.

I would never buy an AMD card *flamesuit on* I have had terrible experience with every single one and my friends too. What is your budget?
