Unfortunately i celebrated too soon... Its not a extreme its a gene, which by no means is a bad board but I am concerned about my crossfire hd6870 cards sitting so close together... Is there a solution to this problem or am I just forced to keep searching for a board that better suits my needs? If so then how would the MSI Z77a-gd65 Gaming compare performance wise?

I have had some massive luck. Decided to go with the MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming board when my colleague suggested I'd buy an unused board he had laying around for 75 euro's. Turns out it's a Asus Z77 Maximus V Extreme board. He had it laying around because he builds pc for people. And the client that wanted that board declined it because 2 leds on the numeric indicator did not work. The company he bought it from didn't want to take it into RMA for that. So at the end of the day I got myself an almost brand new high end board for little money. Lucky me!

I was doing some cleaningwork on my pc this week and unfortunately broke a pin off of my p8p67 pro board. This obviously results in having to buy a new board, but it's been a while since i last read up on them and the p8p67's aren't sold anymore. Seeing as i need my pc to be up and running again ASAP i also do not have the time to do a lot of research, so I was hoping for a little help. I'm looking for a budget board for about 100-150 euro's with proper OC abilities. This motherboard is the last component that will be changed as I will not upgrade the system anymore before buying a completely new one in a couple of years. Hence im looking for the perfect fit for this setup. I will list everything about my setup as i'm not 100% sure what matters and what doesn't. My pc is currently equipped with the following components: Casing: -CM Storm Scout Case. -OCZ TX750M PSU. -Scythe kaze Master Pro Fan Controller. -3x 120mm fan, 2x 140mm fan, 1x80mm external fan. -1x dvd writer. Components: -i5 2500k Processor. -Scythe Mugen 2 CPU Cooler. -2x XFX hd6870 Black Ed. (Crossfire). -2x Corsair 4 GB module's (CMV4GX3M1A1333C9). -2x Corsair 2 GB module's (CMV4GX3M2A1333C9). -1x Samsung 840 EVO 250Gb SSD.(MZ-7TE250). -1x Western Digital SATA 2.0Tb HDD (WD20EARS). It would be of great help if any of you would share your knowledge with me.

I can see the 750TXV2 has 4x pci-e 6+2 pins and the M has 2x pci-e 6 pins and 2x 6+2 pins. whats the difference here? Does the +2 pins mean its a 6 pin with 2 serperate pins so you can make it 8 pins?

I see. Yes those arent cheap at all I was thinking around 90 euro's. Preferably at Alternate (a store in my country) as i will be ordering the XFX hd8670 there again. Hi all, After just buying a new pc i am not content with the XFX hd6870 black's performance. So i wanted to put another one in with crossfire. What are the best quality to price combinations? I figure i could best buy another black edition but i wanted to ask your opinion.

Ok thanks for all the knowledge and support I think i'd rather not risk anything and get myself a new psu. You say the TX750V2 would be ideal. Could i not better get a 850-1000w psu for future use also. Or do you need to swap with each new pc anyways? If so what would you recommend?

Well in general i get the point. But there are some things unclear to me. First off it seems to me i have one connector of each (12v1 -12v4).I will use the splitter on the 12v4 then i guess. Or am i mistaken? Can i not do the same with the 12v2? Second off i dont know if it makes a difference but i have the black edition. Meaning its a factory oc card (as you probably know). So basically i have 1 overclocked cpu (by 1.5 ghz) and 2 overclocked videocards. If you say this'll be alright i wont worry but im just wondering if you considered all this. And what i would like to know is the risks. What happens if the PSU turns out to be incompatible with this setup? Will it damage the components? I would also like to thank you guys for helping me thus far. I appreciate the quick response and effort.

meaning it should work and the ocz does have enough watts for the job but because ill need to use connectors, there might be problems with the cpu and/or motherboard? if so what kind of problems are we talking about? Is it safe to do this? Sorry for being a utter noob but with this stuff id rather take some advice from the pro's. I seem to be mistaken. It seems its actually a ocz psu. The ocz600sxs. Dont know if it makes a difference. In a review of this psu the reviewer states that this psu actually has a max output of 735W. I don't know if i should believe this though.

Can I not damage any components if it turns out to be too little watts? Will it just reset or not boot at all if this would be the case?

I would not mind to put my videocards at regular clocks. Though i want to keep the cpu at 4.8 ghz. Extreme power calc says i should be fine with a recommended 569 watts at full load with a crossfire setup and cpu oc. But i dont know. Seems to be on the edge. Though if possible i'd like to keep the 100 bucks a new psu would cost in my pocket.
