  3. Wait, you said earlier that they flashed it back to an older bios than what you had, correct? It didn't do this before you rma'd it? So go back to the bios that you know worked well(which seems to be the one you had in it BEFORE you had to send it in). This should solve your problem. If your comp worked well before, why did you flash the bios anyway?
  4. This is what will happen here if the gungrabbers get their way. The only way that the govt may get my guns is if they are at the door and have me at gunpoint. A simple threat of jail won't do it.
  5. Interesting how we all of a sudden went from no. 1 to no. 8: http://www.tourismandaviation.com/653-crime-statistics-total-crimes-per-capita-most-recent-by-country.html
  6. You know that is a skewed stat right? You have to use a per capita stat rather than a total stat as the population in the U.S. is higher than most of the others on that list. You need to start donating to the Obama camp, they love people like you.
  7. When mine did it, it would do it randomly during any and all gaming, or anything else for that matter. It was due to the fact that the bios was missing some code vital for use with my i72600k cpu. I am not up on the amd cpu's, but it seems that 8150 is a new cpu, correct? You should look at the release notes for each bios file, it will tell you what new cpu's it supports. OTOH, it could be that your cpu is bad, do you have any way to test it- in someone else's rig maybe?
  8. I had this problem before as well, had to do a bios reflash to get it to go away. I do see that your mobo just came back with a bad bios RMA, it does seem a little coincidental doesn't it? You should be able to flash that Asus pretty easy. Maybe flash to an older bios? Might want to make sure your voltages are all good. It won't hurt to up your cpu voltage a bit to give you some headroom there. Also, make sure your mem voltages are where the manuf. wants them to be. Good luck.
  9. Ok, so in other words, my 5 year old AS5 is no good anymore.
  10. That almost sounds like a cpu/mobo issue rather than a video card issue. The only time I have experienced any input lag or menu problems that were actually related to the video card was when I uninstalled it and was running on windows video drivers alone, and then only a few years ago with my old gtx285- it seems MS has made the windows drivers a little better as I havent seen that in a while. Have you got a different gpu to install and test the system with? Do you have someone local willing to put your card in and check on his rig? I might would play it safe and go ahead and get a replacement card, it does happen with new gpu's that there are some problems that get worked oout after the first batches are already sold.
  11. Thanks boinker, I am very happy with it now! I used the TIM that came with the kit, I may experiment in a couple weeks and use my AC5 silver I have laying around from a few years ago. BTW, does TIM go bad from sitting around?
  12. Interesting. I will check out CAP2 for myself. FWIW, I have only ever seen xfire fixes on CAP1, I haven't used it since I removed my second 6870 3 months ago.
  13. Ok, I know how to fix this particular problem. I had the same exact thing happen to me after I installed 12.4. I found that the problem was tied to the fact that when your card is idle, the voltage is lowered as well as the clock speeds, and then when you are doing things, it sometimes fails to raise voltage( for whatever reason). I installed MSI afterburner(Rivatuner), and discovered that voltage was down around .935( I think). I upped it to 1.212 and I have NEVER had that particular problem again. Make sure to set it to keep at that voltage forever, it may need to be slightly higher for your card, I would say up it by small increments(.5 volts or so) until is is stable, but don't go ridiculous high with it.
  14. Thanks. Have you fixed your rig yet? I'm sorry, I havent looked in your thread to find that out.
