I have recently upgraded to the following:
Asus M3N-HT Deluxe MB (BIOS 1003)
AMD Phenom 9500 (Stock Fan)
Corsair XMS2 (4x 1Gb) DDR2 800mhz (note: need to upgrade here, loking at OCZ DDR2 1066mhz)
BFG NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 OCX 1GB PCIe 2.0
Hiper Type M HPU-4m880 PS
CoolMaster Cosmos 1000 Chasis
Vista Home Premium 64Bit
Samsung Syncmaster 22"
2 x Samsung Spinpoint 500GB Sata 7.200 rpm.
I play games mainly and was hoping to see a big performance upgrade from my previous system, but i think there might be a problem. I play a lot of Counter Strike Source and previously it ran fine on a AMD 5400, Geforce 8800 GT, Asus M32 Sli Deluxe and same memory. But now on the video stress test my new rigg only manages 101 FPS average, and in game about 30-40 FPS regardless of lowest/highest settings?
So as a noob to all this i thought maybe i need to make some setting changes as everything is installed at Factory settings, but i have no idea where to start
I am trying to learn by reading through posts here, but its a little daunting to try and take it all in, so bare with me. I was wondering if there might be someone out there that might fancy taking me under their wing and step by step i can do as requested, post results,pic,etc and learn as we go.
I will be adding a Raptor HD and upgrading the memory this week, not sure to go for SLI Memory Ready or not. Also thinking of using the Thermal Ultra 120 Fan, but again would liek advise on such things.
Anyone fancy a pet project , me!
