Hi all,

i've recently built a new rig and i'm having ALOT of problems trying to overclock this chip. i've spent time reviewing you tube links etc... and the best i've been able to achieve is 4.2GHz stable (1hr Pime95) i achieved this by the following settings.

CPU ratio: 42
CPU ratio: mode: Dynamic
Ring ratio: 41
CPU Core Voltage: 1.250
CPU Ring Voltage: 2.225
VR efficiency management: Disabled

i have a MSI G45 M/B and Evo 212 Fan Kingston HyperX Genesis 8GB (2x4GB CAS 9-9-9-27 Timings, 1.50-1.65v

i want to get to a stable 4.4Ghz.

Where do i start??

I hope that vring is a typo and not 2.2v! thats way to high for a haswell and I think the safe limit is 1.2~

This How to Overclock an Intel 4770K Guide should help even though you are using a i5, a lot of it is the same. Start low and work your way up. everytime you make an adjustment, save and reset. than stress test it, repeat.

If you don't want to do that than you can try the setting below but i can't say for sure if it will work, every chip is different and i have no experience with a i5 haswell. You also may want a different cooler because at 1.2v and above it's going to get hot really quick and the Evo doesn't cut it.

Try

CPU ratio: 42
CPU ratio: mode: Fixed
Ring ratio: 39
CPU Core Voltage: 1.2
CPU Ring Voltage: 1.2
