The occasional hiccups don't really hurt the average too much but they absolutely murder the playability. Look at the second chart down here: http://www.legionhardware.com/articles_pag...e_part_1,3.html 30 -> 34 FPS for the whole range but the minimum ranges from 9 -> 23...and that's with high-end quad core CPUs! I'm still tempted to get one of these for my HTPC...I do enough video encoding that it'd help out massively.
