  1. I don't use speakers, its all headphones, but the sound seem like its coming from a loose capacitor from inside the PSU. I would try and fix it, but I prefered not to take the PSU apart ^_^, Anyway just got my check so I guess its time for an upgrade...TY people
  2. I got a super high pitch noise coming from my machine, and I don't know where the hells its coming from. I've unplugged the CD rom and all of the fans, take out cold cathode, unplugged the floppy drive and its not the CPU fans or the VPU fans either....The PSU fans is fine but sice the noise is a super high frequency I can't really pin point to the exact location its just a BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP which iritate the hella out of my.. Pls any advice would help Ohh yeah this just happen to me recently too, about 2 days now. It so dang annoying that I have to turn off the computer when sleeping. Anyway I though it was some of the diodes that got loose but I've check and all seem to be fine
  3. I'm Sorry, but with your budget its hard to get a decent machine that can handle BF2, Why not spend just a bit more? like around 600? I know that an extra 200 is not much but if you would think about how much everything cost; Case=reuse old one, PSU(400W)~Reuse if have one if not then its $50-70, Motherboard(P4 since you won't be strctly use on gaming, school as well)~100-130$,CPU(2.8GHZ)~$160, 1GB of RAM should be around 125-150(generic brand) DVDRW~$50-70, about the HD, if you have one from the previous computer I would use it to cut back cost, but if not you can always pick one up with a MIR and the final price should be around $80 for a 200 GB and finally your video card....I would recomment that you go with ATI since they offer bundle of games so you woulnd't have to go out and buy HL2....But Nvidia is just better...Any mid range video card cost around $150-220.So decide well and make sure you get one with at least 128mb and a core speed of around 400mhz that use Direct X 9.0 So the final price for all of your coponent should come to around 650-800 If you have the money, spend on the best stuff because technology update like crazy and within a few months you will be outdated
  4. it take about 2 weeks to get your A+ certification, there are pre exam test you can take online over and over and over until you memorize it. it cost around 50$ to take it. I got mine from reading hands on and then just take the test. the only good thing you get from the class is a discount price, good luck!
  5. Well, I got enough money for the new case but i blew it on getting my tattoo shaded and stuff.....lolz so maybe i'll get that case when I really feel I need it, but as for now im satisfied with my POS enermax .
  6. well my old case is an enermax POS, I've mod it to the max (clear plexy top and front brezel, black lights, some light dremel work etc...). Now I feel like i need to upgrade the case and I'm just looking for some input on this SilverStone TJ-06 Wind Tunnel With Window - Black, I need something with alot of room and good air circulation and this seem pretty decent and very clean to do some personal touches. Anyone that have this case please let me know some personal stuff about this, like the noise level, temp, custom mod, ect...
  7. well, if you think about it, most decent air cooling for video card shouldn't cost more than 20-30$ and if you buy a video card with stock heatsink and go out and buy your add on cooling, it should cost slightly cheaper. And about the question "why don't other company do this?" im assuming is that they want to void your warantee and not have to fix your card because you have taken off the heatsink or tampered with it . just my 2 pennies
  8. I DO NOT USE HACKS I play only on secure server, well about my situation, formated my comp and the frame rates did improved just a bit, i'm getting around 30-60 in scout and knives and 20-40 in dust(2) and aztec, I was looking for driver cleaner and dling DH driver cleaner, if this solve my problem. I would accept to any challenge from anyone to have a scrim on scout or knives im here looking for help not looking for assumption, so don't go an accuse people of being a haxor. nuff said. :angry2:
  9. can't really have any spyware, because i just formated my comp. which driver cleaner software would you guys recommend?
  10. Well I got a 6600gt PCIe video card from gigabyte and about a few weeks ago my FPS drop from around 60-100 down to 10-40 fps and i don't know what to do, I have no ideas what is wrong with it. My system is a P4 2.8 3.4 ghz LGA775 on a gigabyte mobo 815, i got 2x 512 Crosair and SATA HDD nothing have been OC, the only decent map i can play on is scout/knives(most FY maps and that is only when i get around 30-40 fps) I've DL the most recent driver and that did no help, formated my comp and no help at all, turn off all my firewall, and anti viruses. is there anything that i should be doing to improve the FPS?
  11. My P4 LGA 775 2.8GHz recently fried after about 6 months so now I'm looking for something new, and I have my eyes on IntelliStation Z Pro 6221-LC1, I have a sweet deal for it too(less than 1k, brand new of course). I don't know if i sh ould buy it or not, since server is usualy data processing and I don't know how well their graphic processor are, and I play game alot hence the burn CPU.. So I just want to know if I should get the Server or just use the money to replace my LGA CPU?
  12. dang you guys, i thought everyone on OCC should be smarter than this? this is a scam(obviously) its pretty much impossible, because you would have to make sure that there is no broken chain. Think of a pyramid. One need to refer 2, and for thoes two to qualify, they need to get 2 for each one....etc ect....sit down and think about it and you will relize that it is impossible
  13. let me see if this is right, you got a new mobo and new cpu, so you just uninstall everything and put your cdrw/dvdrw, floppy, Hard drive video card etc...into your new mobo and cpu right? If your answer is YES, then your window is still running on the old cpu which does not have HT, so you would need to back up everything and do a clean install of window 2k, xp watever... even if you go into the bios right now you can force it to enable HT, but it will not take in effect until you do a clean install First hand experience
  14. XFX already release the 6600GT, you can already buy it at Buy.com its still a bit steep for the AGP version, I will wait a few more weeks until other company release it, then I will get more option. But if you can't wait for the 6600GT XFX is the only company that have it out right now. Leadtek should be the next one to produce the 6600GT for AGP
