seriously, are you guys still gonna review these cards? cuz, I'm all interested and stuff - been trying to find a good RAID controller that I can afford, and these cards tickled my fancy.

I noticed in your RocketRAID article in your intro page screenshot of the bios screen of the 2300 that you were still on bios version 1.0 and that the RocketRAID benchmarks you posted in this article were kinda low compared to my personal experience. Just wanted to say I've dealt with configuring/building quite a few systems with both the RocketRAID 2300 and 1740 cards. Then I remembered I had similar results until I updated the 1.0 bios to at least the 2.0 version and you also need to use the newer 2.0+ drivers. I now follow this procedure every time I unpack a new RocketRAID card and I experience far better performance and reliability. This also helps a lot for the rebuilds and verify time. HighPoint usually issues quite advantageous changes for each bios/driver release. Their newer 2.0 has also added 5x port multiplier (PM) support which is really handy if you want to use more than 4 hdds. The author was definitely right about more performance being had from the cards. Just thought I'd point this out.

Maybe the author could post the new benchmarks after the bios and driver updates. I bet the 2300 smokes the onboard nVIDIA!
