Phil Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) Just throwing ideas around, I've got a lot of old prebuilt computers I can use for this system, what if I got a sound car like this and ran a toslink cable from it? <edit> An interesting discovery. I have some Dell 4700C's, the onboard sound has a digital output for a toslink cable. Edited January 3, 2014 by Phil
Andrewr05 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Yeah, you might as well go all digital if you can. Is the current adapter that you have longer than a normal 2 ring TRS plug? What happens if you only partly plug it in? If that worked then you could jury rig a shim so it only went in so far.
Phil Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 No, it's the same length. Works for the iphone but not the computer. Yeah i would like to go optical if at all possible, not that I would notice the difference, lol.
Phil Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Got the RCA cables, hooked it all up, works great. I guess I'll not bother with optical since the computer I had all set up turns out to have non functioning on board audio.
