  1. Thanks for that. I don't want to have to get a new mobo as the one I have is only about a year old. I'll just have to see if the drive works OK as it is.
  2. Sorry if this is not the place to ask or if the question has already been answered. I have just installed 2 new Antec Cobra round IDE cables for my IDE hard drive, CD/DVD-ROM and DVD writer. The hard drive and CD/DVD-ROM are on the primary channel, the DVD writer is on the secondary channel. Since I put htese cables in, I get a message on booting that says "Secondary IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed". The DVD writer IS working and is recognised eveywhere it should be (boot screen, my computer etc, so do I need to worry about this message or can I ignore it? The cables state that they are 80-conductor, 40-pin ATA 133/100/66/33 compliant so I'm not sure why this message comes up. Could it be because the DVD writer is the only device on this channel (Master)? Anyway do I need to be concerned about this? Thanks for any help.
  3. Whitelightning I have had a look at some reviews on the Volcano and it looks like it might be the way to go. Thanks for your help Mezza
  4. Can anyone please suggest the best heatsink and fan would be for a GA-7N400 Pro2 mobo. I am currently running an Akasa King Copper which is giving temps between 55 and 60 degrees C on a fairly light load. Athlon XP3000+ with no overclocking. I think I may need to reseat it with some better compound and see if that makes a difference. There is (as I'm sure those of you with this mobo know) a capacitor very close to the cpu socket which makes it tricky installing some heatsinks. I had to trim a bit of the heatsink away to avoid hitting it. I noticed a few of you have this combination of processor and board and just wondered if you could advise me. Thanks
