Question on mobo main power plug size

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, Well my grandmothers computer went bad last week, integrated gpu cooked itself. So for Christmas I'm building her a new computer. However I was thinking of throwing together a low end "frankenstein" computer from what remains of her old one. the computer was a small form factor so i'm going to move it into a normal case that way I can run a 4670 for graphics. However upon looking at the hp mobo and powersupply the standard 24 pin connector is like mini. Looks the same as usual just like a 1/4 of the size. I have never seen powersupplies with ends like that. Can I buy one with a small mainboard connector like that? The reason i wonder is because it only has a 160w powersupply and I feel that the 4670 might push it over its limits. Any help appreciated.

Does the connector look like the one on this motherboard?

Adapter cables (ATX 24 pin to Mini 24 pin) were offered for sale on ebay sometime ago but I can't find it now. I'll keep looking and see if I can come up with something.

Edit: This maybe the one you're after?
