  1. Thank you for your answers. I was able to find a video that Linus with NCIX Tech tips did that kind of explained the same thing but with a few small differences. I will Probably just do what ir_cow did and get some off of Ebay. Thanks again.
  2. Hello, I am thinking of upgrading my ram. I only have 2 slots used and they are Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800). My question is can I add 2 x 8GB in my open slots and have everything work correctly or do I need to upgrade all 4 at the same time? Also does the timing matter? I was thinking of adding these to my system. G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Intel 100/9/8/7/6 Series Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GXLL Any help or recommendations would be helpful. Thank.
  3. It would not let me upload the file. So now I have uploaded a pic using paint lol.
  4. I just got back into folding and upgraded the software. I used to not be able to use my GPU and could never figure it out. Now with the new software it was really easy to add my GPU to it. However when I set the settings to Full load the CPU kept constant but GPU would go from 0 to 100 back to 0 in surges. When I lowered the settings to Medium it fixed the GPU and it now runs at 100% but the CPU's are running at a slightly lower setting. Is it a F@H stability issue or a GPU not quite overclocked right? I have been running this GPU with its current setting since I got it and I haven't had any problems. I uploaded the sensor log for my GPU.
  5. Thank you both for the prompt answers. I have made the change in my plans.
  6. Hey everyone. I have been researching and trying to pick out the parts for my wife's next PC. I just wanted to get your opinion on the build before I give it the go, because it was everyone here that helped me get this old beast that I have now and I still love it. I was planing on just using Newegg to buy all the parts but it looks as if I could save around $100 or so by going trough multiple websites found by PCPartsPicker. I definitely plan on overclocking it to get all its potential. I wasn't quite planing on spending this much on it but I am not sure where I can and should skimp. Something that was not in my original plans is to keep my wife's old computer and give it to the kids. That upped the price quite a bit. Case: Thermaltake Chaser Series Chaser MK-I (VN300M1W2N) Black SECC ATX Full Tower Computer Case $160 The case is something she picked out because she thinks it pretty. lol MB: ASUS Z170-A LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $155 This seems to be the most popular Motherboard out right now but I don't know if its the best choice. CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132566&ignorebbr=1 $255 I picked this CPU so that I could overclock it. Water Cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181100'>Corsair Hydro Series
  7. My wife is turning 35 in 20 days. I was thinking of upgrading her PC a little and wanted your advice since I haven't been keeping up to date on the new technology. Right now she is just using the CPU's GPU. She mostly plays WoW and uses her PC o browse the internet. We both have a 27 inch monitor but I still catch her using mine to play her games, ha ha. I was planing on spending around $200 on her GPU and I found one that had nice reviews. SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100364VXL Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5.I am open to suggestions on video cards though. I am also going to need a new PSU as hers is only a 430 watt. I feel that a new video card would make her computer a lot more enjoyable for her to use. Her current specs are: Motherboard: ASUS F2A55-M LK PLUS FM2 AMD A55 CPU: AMD-FM2 A8-5600k Ram: 2x4gb ddr3-1600mhz Team Xtreme PSU: Corsair Builder series430 watt. Thanks
  8. I never got into the OnLive scene but that just seems wrong to me. It makes me distrustful of any new service.
  9. Thanks for the game Darth_Tom and this is a great thread. I just wish I had some to offer in return. Maybe I should buy more video cards when I get the chance and give you guys the free game codes.
  10. Congrats everyone. I didn't get anything this year but my wife and I are very happy with her keyboard she had received last year.
