  1. Changed RAM to a faster speed. Changed PSU to HX1050W I will get the monitor. Nvidia have released a list of compatible monitors that will recieve kits. Changed to a samsung SSD for OS and games. The 2TB hd's for storage I want an i7.... just because lol I think i will get the 4770k. Its purely for games, thats it. As for watercooling, ill take a look at that loop you said you can add on to. I wasn't going to cool the cards just cpu. But i guess it would be good to be able to add to it later. I think ill still get the 2 cards. I won't be building this asap. More like christmas/new year build. By then there will be new technology i guess.
  2. Ok so this is my current setup: CPU: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67Ghz MB: Asus P6T-SE RAM: G.Skill-NQ DDR3 12GB @1333Mhz GPU: Nvidia GTX 570 PSU: Antec TruePower 650W CASE: Thermaltake Full Armour+ MONITOR: BenQ G2220HDA 21.5" HD: 2x500G + 2x80GB Seagate Barracuda OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit So its getting a bit old. The MB only recognises half the RAM which from what I've read is a common fault. This was my first build I've had it since the i7920 came out (5 years ago). Was a budget build. Didn't overclock it or water cool it. Kind of just left it as it was. Its only use is gaming. I would sell it, but its not even worth anything IMO. Its time for a new build. I don't really have a budget and if i do its fairly high. I'm looking to go overkill with my next build. Looking to spend approx $5k. New build setup: CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K MB: ASUS Maximus VI Extreme Motherboard RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD16GX3M2A1866C9 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Superclocked 3GB (SLI x2) PSU: Corsair AX1200i Digital ATX Modular Power Supply CASE: Corsair Obsidian 900D Super Tower Case MONITOR: ASUS VG278HE 27in Widescreen 3D Monitor HD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM001 (x2) SSD: Intel 530 Series 240GB SSD COOLING: XSPC Raystorm D5 Acrylic RX360 Water Cooling Kit Now the questions i have with this build are: 1. Is that enough RAM? 2x 8GB sticks? 2. Is the PSU too much? 3. The monitor will be compatible with G-SYNC. So either wait for new ones or use this one? 4. Are the Hard drives too cheap? Should i get faster ones? 5. Is the intel SSD a good brand and is 240GB big enough for what i need? 6. Should i buy a watercooling kit or go custom? I know a little bit about water cooling not an expert. 7. 4770k or 4960x lol? Any new CPU's due in 2014 i should hold off for? A lot of questions, but it just bugs me. Don't want to go and spend the money without knowing if there was a better option. Experts help me out here.
  3. Kreig i think your right. From what I've read that is all i can conclude. Its just weird how it works fine then 1 day stops. When i never changed anything at all. Ah well maybe its broken then no solution.
  4. Apparently heaps of Asus MB's do it. I have 3 sticks of gskill 1333mhz and 3 sticks of kingston 1333mhz. always used to show 12GB. now shows 8. Ive read forums you need to set timing i did that i think. Not to sure bout bios stuff. Others say re seat the cpu. What ever happened i dont know. One day says 12 now says 8. cpuz says i got 12 there but windows 7 says i got 8. Ive updated bios and move ram around a few times. no luck. Some guy said he set timing and it fixed it. I dont know what to do.
  5. Anyone heard of any 24" 120Hz monitors that are good and a reasonable price? Ive seen alot of 22" 120Hz but ive got 22" 60hz atm and im looking to go for a 120Hz but also bigger. 24 will be big enough for gaming i mean 22 is but if im gonna upgrade to 120Hz might aswell get a 24". Could you guys give me some suggestions and pricing on what im after. Cheers
  6. My case is a thermaltake armor + full tower. Heaps of room. Yes thats my RAM. Should fit. Also how much of a difference would an SSD make with the i7 @ 4ghz as opposed to having the standard hd's and i7 @ 4ghz?
  7. Yeah that NH-D14 is so big only thing i need to check is if it clears my ram. Ive got heatsinks on my ram but they dont stick up too much. I heard Thermalright Silver arrow is also just as good. 4ghz is my aim hopefully an air cooler can do it i only game so no heavy video rendering or anything. Will the PSU take a GTX570 and 4ghz i7? or go to 850?
  8. Got my i7 920 stock want to OC it something to the tune of 4ghz. Possible on a Noctua NH-D14? Any other coolers capable of this? < I don't know much bout coolers. Not worried about price but not really looking at water cooling so top line air cooler is what i need. My PSU is 650W with that GTX570 i know i need more ill upgrade if need i just left it there for the short term. New PSU probably be Corsair HX850 or 1000.
  9. RMA? and yeah im getting a cpu cooler gonna overclock see if it helps.
  10. Well i updated new drivers when they came out and cleaned old ones before i did it. I get higher fps in bc2 now but it still fails when theres explosions or dust or something. Ive got like reso maxed and all gfx settings on low. dx11 aswell. Starting to annoy that a gtx570 cant run bc2 on low at more than 80 - 90 fps -_-
  11. Well ill try air cooler. But i didn't clean my drivers lol. Maybe the 260 ones are still there might have something to do with it.
  12. Well i had a GTX260 before and it ran fine. Since the latest patch came out for bc2 its run crap. I got a new gfx card cause i was upgrading anyway. But it still does the same thing. maybe i need to get water cooling overclock my i7 to 4ghz. Im lost.
  13. Yeah alright man. Ill try it. Casue i bought a new gfx card so it wouldn't do this. When it failed left me a bit disappointed.
  14. I have a GTX570 and i7920 both at stock everything. I play bad company 2 at 1920x1080 but everything on low. full res low gfx. I have 12GB of ram. I also get low fps like 30 - 40 sometimes lower. Like when im near explosions or water or anything that stresses the gfx card the fps just drops. Idk if mine has a bottleneck or if its my ram. But its starting to annoy me alot.
