My goals for doing this are achieving better performance, temps, overclock-ability, aesthetics and the joy of just putting it all together and making it work. Looking for any and all advice/opinions regarding choice of components. Suggestions on layout or anyone with experience WCing in my case or its individual components. Specs and my current choices for parts below. Currently thinking about doing Res>>pump>>Gpus(using a parallel bridge)>>3x120mmx60mmrad>>CPU>>1x120mmx60mmrad>> Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. HarryTaco Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) I like your choices, nothing seems out of line. I have done some serious research and review on water cooling this past week. I went with the 655 pump as well, a Swiftech block and an Alphacool 420cm x 60cm thick. Resevoir is your choice anyway. I will build my own. Your radiators are solid choices. You should have no problem with your choices of hardware. What brand fittings are you going with? Will you use Barbed or Pressure fittings? Your pump will preheat your water and your resevoir will eventually heat up as well. My choice would be to enter your CPU/GPU block directly after your Radiator pass as this will be the coolest temp. Your exit from the cpu/gpu block should then enter your resevoir and then your pump and back to the Radiator. This pump will exceed the maximum flow pressure your cpu/gpu blocks are capable of flowing. You will be maxing out your system for flow efficiency. Hey, I am sure there are more experienced Water Cooling people around. Its just a matter of interest, if they want to put their two-cents in. wevsspot Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Since a D5 pump can last a long time, I'd opt for the model that includes the compression ring / inlet-outlet fitting. That way if you ever want to run the pump without an integrated pump/reservoir you will have that option. I buy the full pump and put the compression ring and inlet / outlet fitting away in the box for future use if ever needed. It will also make the pump easier to sell if you ever want / need to in the future. I'm not an EK fan either, so most of my loops consist of Swiftech / XSPC components. I dig the reservoir. I want clear for the aesthetics and so I can see if air bubbles get trapped during bleeding. ccokeman Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I tell you what the Swiftech Apogee Drive 2 has been pretty stout on my Gaming rig. Eliminates so fit and plumbing issues. I cant seem to find any FPI info on the alphacool. edit: meant to say I could find info on the FPI of the Alphacool lol.
