Thread repurposed, (again)

Okay so I THINK I want to finally purchase an SSD. I guess a used one would be a good first step since I'm not made of money.

I would assume that running a 64GB SSD with Win7 as a boot drive and keeping all my files on my 500GB WD Caviar Blue would work out well...

ocz vector or samsung 840 pro = fast !...and yea, waht he said,...128gb minimum...

+1 for min 120 GB. I'm running a 120 as my OS drive and a hybrid 7200 rpm as my secondary drive. I've found I've got some space issues when I start installing multiple games to their default location.

yup,... i put my win8 steam and other games in my back up (win 7 dual boot) velociraptor, which works out pretty darned good, ...since win8 and win7 both use the same program folders i have alot fewer updates n stuff...

If I did that every time I wanted to buy something I'd already have 3 threads on the first page of the marketplace.  :teehee:

I don't play a whole ton of games but most of the ones I do don't need to be installed on the SSD. For example, League of Legends is a game that everyone loads in simultaneously, so I would still be waiting for others to load before anything happens. I would mostly do it for games with terrible loading times...which lately hasn't been a problem...

Hey Loc - I'm just going to second, third and fourth what everyone else has said........ get a 120 or 128Gb minimum.  You'll regret it if you don't.

While we can sit around and compare benchmarks all day long, and debate reliability, first time quality etc. you're going to be hard pressed to beat this deal here;

Unless you find a deal, a 64 GB at very good deal, 128 GB makes more sense. Larger drives work better.

Samsung 840's go on sale around $90, 60 GB are often $70-80.

I got two Kingston HyperX 3K 128  on sale for $70 each, two Samsung 830 128 GB at $80  each.

There was a recent good price in Kingston V300.

Look.
