I used to work for Xoxide. I ran their gaming section before they decided to close it down. But man did I get a bunch of free stuff.

Here's my new OC on stock cooling in a room with the AC on, lol. It seems stable and is being Prim95 tested right now. The voltage fluctuates between 1.675 and and 1.7, so I can't give an exact number. Temps are around 105F on load and about 97-100 on idle. Not bad for a socket 754.

Mine so far, I plan on hitting 2.6 minimum. http://img155.exs.cx/img155/6774/athlon64desktop016ox.jpg

Overclocked My Friends P4 1.6
Devastation replied to Devastation's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
I just went into the bios and upped it in increments of 20mhz. But for some reason, his computer has been on stock speeds running on 1.8v. I have no idea why it was that high, but it helped me overclock it. Also, look for a jumper on your motherboard that says "JF" or "Jumper_Free". I believe that unlocks the option to overclock in the bios for some motherboards. I had an Asus A7V333 and in order to overclock, I needed to have it on jumper free. Try searching your manual for that, it might help. Other than that.....I have no idea how else you would up that thing. -
Same thing happens to me when I overclock my P4 1.8 to 2.1Ghz. It crashes in Battlefield 1942, Vietnam, and other big memory hog games. I have no idea why. I have 1GB Kingston PC3200. So I just have it at 2Ghz and it runs fine.

Overclocked My Friends P4 1.6
Devastation replied to Devastation's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
Thanks for all your replies guys, I appreciate the feedback. The temps are running beautifully as we speak. The motherboard is doing an excellent job and I'm very impressed by it. As soon as he gets a better HSF, I will aim for higher speeds. Until then, he's very happy with the overclock. -
Overclocked My Friends P4 1.6

His motherboard is an Asus P4PE -
So I went to my friend's house today and he asked if I could overclock his P4 1.6Ghz comp. Thinking about how high I might possibly get it, I figured it was worth a shot. Right now, It's at 2.016Ghz and has a vCore of 1.8 volts. It's on stock cooling is at 34 degress celsius idle, and 36 on load. I think it's a very fine overclock on stock cooling. I'm pretty happy about it. He's almost to the speed of my overclocked P4 1.8Ghz.

Awesome overclock man. I'm sure you can push it a tad further. But again, it is a very nice overclock.

OK, so like the title says, I have overclocked my LAN computer. Below are the specs: - Intel Pentium 4 1.8Ghz (Northwood) - Asus P4S8X Motherboard - (2x) Maxtor 200GB SATA 7200RPM 8MB Hard Drives - (2x512) 1024MB Kingston PC2700 - ATI Radeon 9200 I did a small overclock because I'm using the stock Intel Heatsink for now. Stock: Pentium 4 1.8GHZ Multiplier: 18 Frequency: 100/33 Overclocked: Pentium 4 1.8 @ 2.1GHZ Multiplier: 18 Frequency: 117/39 I plan to go higher once I get better cooling. But I don't think it's bad at all for my first REAL overclock. I'm very happy about it and plan to hit 2.2Ghz or 2.3Ghz. Any recommendations on a good heatsink and fan that can help me achieve this? I was looking at a Zalman CPU Cooler from www.Xoxide.com. Do you guys think this will work well? If not, please help me choose one. Thanks.
