  1. I'm wondering is this is from a bad motherboard but I get audio static sounds in games. I've disabled all other audio devices on the computer, messed with the settings in the soundblaster control panel, etc but nothing worked. Also, the front audio port gives constant static whether ingame or out and it's much louder.. I have a gigabyte G1 Sniper Z97 mobo. Any ideas and would a dedicated card fix this static?
  2. Thanks alot guys. I got the ripjaws, puts me just under $1300 because I was a bit over so thats good. But do you think I should wait until black friday? Will computer parts be cheaper that day?
  3. Well I put together a build and I need some advice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117372- processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500362- video card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128706- mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233536- ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010- power http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840- hdd http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014378- monitor Also, I have an old computer with this cooling fan... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233029 Could I use it with my new processor if i want to overclock it in the future? Then this is the old case that I have to use: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119068 Not sure if everything will fit in that case but there is my build. The case also missing the two screws for the side panel. I have no idea where I can get new ones. Don't ask how they went missing. -edit- i also have an old dvd burner
  4. I'm trying to upgrade my computer to play archeage and I want it to run at like 1080p resolution on ultra settings. I got $1300 to spend max. The computer I'm looking at is here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220801 Here is the monitor i'm looking at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014378 Any issues with this computer as far as performance of parts, etc? Building a computer to get more bang for my buck is not out of the question but the last time I did that was back in 2008 or so and I'm not into the whole computer building scene like I was back then so I wouldn't know where to start anymore.

  6. Hello. I know there's some knowledgeable people here so I thought I'd give it a try. My job is to rework a WAN which is currently setup as follows: theres a t3 line connecting two locations (Location 1 and 2) in Austin and both have marketing and administrative departments. There are also distribution offices in Atlanta, Miami and Seattle that have administrative and marketing offices. Finally, there is a plant in Japan. I'd like all the sites to be interconnected and specialized for teleconferencing. Also, it would be nice if there was logical grouping to group together all the administrative and marketing offices at each location. Vlan? And can I use the t3 line to connect all locations?
  7. lol just kidding...but it did get whooped pretty hard just now. My specs are: * E8400 @ 4.0GHz * 9800GT 512mb * 3GB ram * Gigabyte EP45-UD3R mobo * Corsair 550watt PSU I can only play that game on normal-low settings for it to be smooth like I'm used to. So I figured it's time to upgrade. Optimum specs for Metro 2033 are: Optimum: * Core i7 CPU * NVIDIA DirectX 11 compliant graphics card (GeForce GTX 480 and 470) * As much RAM as possible (8GB+) * Fast HDD or SSD  You notice they even say "As much as Ram as possible"....that's how much of a monster this game is. lol. So anyways...I wanna aim for these specs as cheap as possible. I've heard that some of those radeon cards are as good as GTX480's...only like $200 less. Anyone have any experience, suggestions, or pro tips for cutting costs to make a build like this? I wanna salvage most of my old parts if I can.
  8. What's up? I have this printer that I'm trying to fix and it says that the paper is jammed...but there's nothing in there. So I decided to take a closer look at the ink holder and it's stuck to the right of the printer. It's supposed to just slide back and forth on the printer to allow you to add/remove ink cartridges. I think this is why it's saying paper jam...because it can't move the ink thing. Any ideas? O_o
  9. Hello I just wanna throw in there that I have a Gigabyte board aswell and did some overclocking. I found that leaving everything at the default/auto settings stabilized my system. GA boards don't like you to mess with the settings, which is why the bios looks so cryptic. Not overclocker friendly at all. I had been trying to get stable 4.0GHz for a little over a week. It wouldn't let me set my D-ram freq among other things. So anyways, after a day or two I'd get instability to the point where I couldn't use my system. So I went back and set everything to default/auto and bumped up the v-core to get to 4.0GHz. I think I also set the robust graphics booster setting to turbo or something, but that's it. It's been rock solid stable for over a month now. According to cpu-z, everything is set to the right values when I let the mobo manage everything.
  10. I hate games like that....I do what I want irl. o_o To me, playing fallout 3 is like a chore rather than a fun video game experience.
  11. Valve Blizzard EA (yeah really) ;o NCsoft Lionhead Studios LucasArts And Probably a few more that I can't think of.
  12. Anyone else agree with this? lol. I bought it months ago and played through a bit of it. Couldn't stand it at all so I put it away and started playing it again recently. It's still the same garbage lol. The combat system is just....blahh. There's no real point to the vat system is there? I mean I haven't played through 20% of the game but it looks like I can just shoot normally through first person view and kill more efficiently. I don't like the landscape either. It just looks bland and boring. heh
