cirro Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 really dissapointed at inital drive, especially for $
ccokeman Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Its new technology and Seagate even knows that the technology will improve. Still an improvement over older technology though!
IVIYTH0S Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 It is nice Seagate is offering their 5 year warranties again but I'd prefer the 2TB Barracuda LP. $300 for what I'd call a storage drive (even though it performed admirably) is a tad steep. I still like one OS and one or more storage drives. (Though for an all in one solution, the price makes a little more sense.)
Waco Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Eh. 6 Gbps on a mechanical drive that doesn't come close to 3 Gbps doesn't make me jump for my wallet. Â I want 6 Gbps SSDs dammit!
ccokeman Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Hey I agree! Faster storage though that's for sure

Zertz Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I want to see theoretical speeds become a reality. I think it'll be a while before a single drive hits 600 MB/s (well, a little less since SATA II actually maxes out around 260 MB/s)
IVIYTH0S Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 USB 3.0 interests me more right now (until I hop on the SSD train when they come down in price)
