Okey so here is my almost completed build list, any comments or help much appreciated, im paticulary interested in what memory to buy ?

Its not really for gaming just hard core application use and photoshop etc which is why ill use onboard Graphics to start before possibly upgrading...

Corsair 540 ATX Cube Case

Intel Core i7 4790K 4GHz

Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO Z97

Coolermaster GM-Series 750W Semi Modular 80+ Bronze Power Supply

Corsair Hydro Series H110 Liquid CPU Cooler

HyperX 3K 240GB 2.5inch SATA-III SSD

I dont want to spend out to much on ram but want for example to have 2x4gb with the option to add another 2x4gb's so start with 8 with the option to have 16gb

So if i wanted to get 4 sticks of corsair 4GB whats the best option to go for with this setup ie speed etc etc ?

Is there anything i have missed out component wise ?

Thanks in advance.

Well that's no fun... :(

1. I always go for a large ram option right up front, 2x4 is better then 4x2. But 4x4 is optimal.

2. Not sure exactly, but performance wise, you won't see much of a difference with any speed of ram, just get something in your budget.

3. GPU would be a good idea from the start, fans for your case, maybe a storage drive(s), monitor(s) if you don't already have them. keyboard/mouse if you don't already have them

If you are doing photoshop you should push the memory up and get a good low latency 2x8GB kit or better yet a 4x8GB 1866MHz kit so you can use the RamDIsk available on the M7H. Unfortunately thats a roughly $300 option

With a 2x8GB 1866MHz kit you are still in the $150-$170 range
