Carterjj Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Got a quick question about over clocking the gigabyte R9 270x. On the box it says it is an already overclocked version so I'm just curious with the wind force three fan set up is there still room to over clock it further or am I out of luck. I ran it in OCCT and it ran great. Any in site would be nice. I don't have the money for a custom loop or water block set up so I'm just trying to squeeze what I can out of her. StumpFuMaster Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) In regards to your card, assuming the 2gb version, here are some reference points for OCing: http://www.legitreviews.com/gigabyte-radeon-r9-270x-video-card-review_129819/13 http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/zardon/gigabyte-r9-270x-windforce-oc-review/21/ Its going to vary card to card, but you should be able to boost it some. I have the XFX Double D R9 270x 2gb and have found the R9 270X to be very capable at stock speeds. What is the rest of your system configuration? What are you looking for in the OC? Carterjj Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Very interesting. I've always heard to stay away from overdrive but isn't catalyst the same thing? But in all honesty I'm just trying to squeeze every bit out of it. Kinda on a overclocking kick right now. Also my set up is as follows. FX6300 Asus sabertooth 990fx 2.0 Gigabyte R9 270x 2gb Evga 600b PSU Cool master seidon 120v
pinkrosi Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Yes, for any game that uses PhysX, it's worth it. And yes, use a GTX 750 Ti paired with a GTX 980 ___________ adil
