Cheap SATA card for 2012R2 x64 or Does my board support port muliplier

I have an MSI A75MA-P35 running Server 2012R2 X64 and am at my drive limit (6). I have a spare 4-port SATA card, but 2012R2 doesn't support it :(

Does anyone know of a cheap ($20-$30) 2-4 port card that supports 2012R2? I've been looking a few places but don't see anything under $100.

If not that, then does anyone know if the onboard SATA chipset supports port-multiplers?

I was trying to avoid spending that much on this system. I only put about $600 total into it when I built it last year because I just need something that will run a couple VMs and plex. I just needed to throw in another drive for one of the VMs, but i don't have the ports.

Chances are there is a driver somewhere to get the card you have working with Server 2012 R2.  Back when I ran a server OS on my server here at home (not that long ago actually) I commonly had to get creative with drivers to get things working such as manually extracting them and manually installing them when the installer wouldn't detect my server OS as an option.  Server 2012 R2 should share drivers with 8/8.1 though disabling driver signature enforcement MAY be needed to get it working.

Another option is to research what controller the card you have is using and look for a driver for it vs the card.  Usually that's all you need and grabbing the driver from another brand card with the same controller can make it work many times as well.

I wouldn't do this in a business environment but as a home/test server there's a lot of little tricks to try and get it working.

So I finally got it to work. I had to disable driver signature enforcement.
