  1. Any other suggestions? The purchases have gotten slightly delayed. Will be getting them by early next week. Please feel free to drop in any suggestions. Thanks
  2. I hope so, doesnt say so intels website though: http://ark.intel.com/products/63697
  3. Never had any problems with my GTS250.Just don't think it will support 2560x1440 with its 512MB memory though. X79 is native PCIE 3.0, the Quadro FX 4800 is only 2.0 and I think execpt for the new K series they are all 1.1 or 2.0. In anycase it would matter the lest compared to everything else. Thats the thing,X79 has support for PCIE 3.0 only if a processor supporting 3.0 was installed. But all SNB-E are 2.0 compliant but they are capable of 8GT/s transfer speed and 40 lanes for PCIE hence they can be forced to run at PCIE 3.0 according to Intel and Nvidia.Nvidia came up with a patch to force it. Are you using any patch for 3.0 or just dropped a card in a voila 3.0
  4. I mean does your card work at 3.0 or 2.0? If at 3.0 how did you get it to work cause x79 supports only 2.0 natively.
  5. Will trying finding a used pro card, if possible will pick that up.That is my first choice too. Will update the post as soon everything is setup and running. BTW:How do you get PCIE 3.0 working with the 3930k?
  6. Its not me saying it, check out various forums and reviews. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-660-ti-memory-bandwidth-anti-aliasing,3283-12.html
  7. The only thing about the 660 is the 192 bit memory interface that affects it in a bad way at 2560x1440 res. That is the only reason for my leaning more towards the HD7870 with its 256 bit memory interface. Will look out for used Quadro cards. If I cant find any i will go with the cheaper of the two dell monitors. The U2713HM one.It its the 8bit one.
  8. I can't find any quadro cards that cheap where I live, the only option is to buy them new.Which is way to expensive.
  9. Thanks for your reply. I plan on doing some low poly models and dynamics in Maya and Max. Bringing it to after effects after rendering and using after effects to composite the image sequences.(correct me if I am wrong, student here.) Similarly would use After effects for final rendering of image sequences from PFtrack, Mocha and other such softwares. Thanks for the suggestion, for the monitors I was considering the Hp ZR2740w v2 or the the Dell U2713H OR HM.Not sure of the Samsung PLS screens. For the graphics card, the quadro that you have in your signature, the FX4800 is out of my budget. Please suggest something. Thanks
  10. My System consists of a 512Mb GTS250,8Gb System Ram and an i7 3930k and DX79TO motherboard. I want to know if this would be enough to use softwares like Maya,Max,Aftereffects and other similar video editing softwares on a 2560x1440 monitor like the HP U2713H and U2713HM or the Hp ZR2740w v2(still deciding which one to get.(Open to PLS screens too please give me your suggestion) Is anyone using current generation Geforce cards like the GTX 660Ti with these softwares? How does it perform. How do the AMD ATI cards fare with these softwares. Here the HD7870Xt fits in.How is the performance with the softwares I have listed. If I go for a Radeon card, could I retain my GTS 250 for PhysX. Thanks everyone
