FUZi0N Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) Just wanted to share my results following this guide over on hardforum for removing anti-glare on my Asus VG248QE. Here's a few pictures I took during the process. I used a spray bottle to keep the shop towels saturated for about 10 hours. Once I was able to get my nail under the AG coating, it came off like a very weak brittle vinyl sticker. The monitor no longer looks washed out and much more vibrant. I was a little nervous since I just bought the monitor only 2 months ago but it worked flawlessly. The key is patience. FUZi0N Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Pretty interesting process. Ya, I was a bit nervous lol. The adhesive is water based so consistent moisture from the towels reactivates it. It really makes a huge difference with the picture color and it's the way the monitor should've been from the factory.
IVIYTH0S Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 But why -_- , glare is terrible lol
bp9801 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 But why -_- , glare is terrible lol AG coating can be worse if it is too heavy to make the image grainy. Not everyone is bothered by it, luckily. Removing it does void the warranty, so up to the user.

I guess ASUS didn't do it right with that monitor, it's a godsend on my laptop's screen and my desktop's panels. I can't stand glare! I've never personally seen the AG coating make a screen look worse though Edited February 15, 2015 by IVIYTH0S
FUZi0N Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 There isn't much reflection in the office space I have. It's all personal preference.
