New SSD, not recognizing old HDD :/

Since this is the second time in as many weeks a similar question has been asked;

 

You can achieve the same results by using the Disk Management Tool found in the Windows operating system.  Go to Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.  From the drop down tree on the left select "Storage" and then "Disk Management".  You will see an unallocated space / partition there.  You need to create a basic or dynamic partition in the unallocated space.

 

If you're running Windows 7 or Windows 8 you can simply begin typing "disk management" (without the quotation marks) in the search box and it will pop up.

 

If you don't see an unallocated partition then there is another problem (i.e. cable, faulty hard drive, wrong BIOS setting, no power to the hard drive, etc.)
