  1. And how many ppl do u think just happen to have a plasma cutter in their toolboxes!!!
  2. Draw a line & do it the hard way u lazy sod!!! lol yes a file, thats right, a file, you know like convicts use!!! A jigsaw makes a pretty good cut next time, if you really cant steer a jigsaw the clamp a piece of wood to the panel & use that us a jigsaw guide. You'll almost always have to file to straighten up cuts even straight ones. Halfords will do self adhesive trim but I think it looks naff. EDIT: http://www.overclockersclub.com/gallery/?act=case&id=265 Done with Jigsaw & hand filed, 2nd attempt at a window mod.
  3. Trie Norton internet security, it's a pain to use & gives little control, I now have zone alarm pro & it is excellent, load of useful stuff like site blocking & parental keyword control, ability to set times for internet access (great to switch off the kids internet at bedtime!), e-mail alert if networked PC's try to acess blocked websites, so your kids can no longer look at porn!
  4. Oh yeah, the sound cables, usb's 250Volt supplies & other stuiff was all chewed I had replacements in my spares boxes thank God! & resoldered the sound system (several wires in that core) sigh* They are only puppies for a few months thankfully! EDIT: I redid the cabling & now have fixed sockets installed & flexible patch cables, seems my solid core cables were not suitable for direct connection due to their fragile nature.
  5. OK!!! sorted now. Three problems found, I'm shattered but happy! 1. remote network card faulty 2 LAN cable chewed by puppy dog! working but intermittently faulty 3. Don't know if it is a fault buy Upnp IS on so I'll disable that. Thanks all for the assistance.
  6. I cant find any duplex settings on the second PC, on my WinXP ASUS a7n deluxe I'm using the onboard ASUS lan card to the router with the cable modem & second PC connected to the router. I did a speed test sending a large file to a shared folder & used "Netstat" to analyse it, upload results were 600-800Kb, thats pretty slow right? "Why would you assume you should get 1000mbps? The cards are only rated at 10/100. In order to achieve 1000 mpbs, you need the NICS as well as the hub/switch/router to have 1000 mbps ports on them. I would suggest double checking that both cards are 10/100 mbps as well as full duplex" About 1000Mbps that was a typo sorry I meant 100Mbps Cant find a speed switch on router config either, I'll look out a spare LAN cable & try that. How can I find out if the Lan cards are full duplex? The network gateway bridge thing on both PC says that they are cconnected at 100Mbps even though the router claims it is 10Mbps
  7. Hi, I have a WinXP (host) & Win98 PC networked via a NetgearRP614v2 router & Zonealarm pro, all is working OK, but the router led's tell me that the local LAN is only 10Mbps both LAN cards are 10/100, should I not be getting 1000Mbps? Also using a shared printer connected to the host PC (WinXP) it taks 2-4 minutes to print a document fron the remote PC, whats wrong??? Thanks guys.
  8. I noticed on his sig that he is not running 512Mb but 2 X 512!!!! 1024Mb that will cause problems, I have 512 on my Kids Win98 PC an so far it's Ok but 1024 probably wouldn't even boot!

    Cd Key!

game.uk.com have a 10 day unconditional returns warranty, buy online or at a local store. UK only though I think. I don't play demo's anymore I just go get the real thing & try to finish it in 10 days!
  10. Big red is there not a workaround to use 512Mb by increasing the cache size or similar?
  11. NO problem with that setup
  12. IMHO I'd avoid the ECS mobo next time samurai, it is an OK mobo but it cost a very similar amount for a really good board like ASUS, ABIT etc, as it is the base component is does help to build around a good mobo & makes it more stable. Just my thoughts, I do realise that you were on a budget but the mobo is worth the extra cash & you can always buy a smaller CPU to recoup that as they come down in price so fast it is easy to upgrade one.
