  1. Thank you for the reply. I found out the card is bad. Spike was right, ~11 years I replace my card using my brother's EVGA 6200. Everything seems to be back smoothly. Now I need to figure out what GPU I want to get next. For sure, a mid/high range card is next choice. We'll see. Once again, thank you!
  2. Hi, I currently have an EVGA 8800GT in my rig at the moment. However, I am encountering problem as yesterday. I think my card is defecting. i now see red wavy lines across my screen, my MSI Afterburner software stops function. I am thinking this is the result of my card being very old now. I've had this card for more than 10 years now. Perhaps I am thinking of getting a new card soon, but would like some confirmation first. Attach is the screen shot. Thank you.
  3. I know this is embarrassing, but I don't know how to do this at all. I have never tried this, so maybe that could be the reason why?
  4. Yes, I just did it now and it works. But I am concern, because that's the only feature I will get to use. Nothing else. No software or anything. I thought it was the media I am using (TDK) but it work and burns fine.
  5. Yeah, but maybe I just got a dud one. Don't know if I can get a refund though. I bought this almost 4 months ago.
  6. So I installed Roxio which is a different program and still got the same problems. Gave me no options to burn a blank DVD disc. Its pretty clear that its the drive that's faulty here. Funny because it can read and run off the drive, but just can't write (or at least no options of writing). I am just going to have to buy another drive. Perhaps I am going to try a different brand this time. First time buying an ASUS drive by the way.
  7. I re-installed it. Still no go. Damn, I may need to splurge on a new DVD-RW instead. ASUS sucks in peripheral I suppose.
  8. Yes it did detected properly in the device manager. It states ASUS DRW-24F1ST. Nero doesn't detect its even if I switch to other DVD writing programs. This is the drive I have. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135305
  9. I have Nero installed and prior to using this burner, I have never used the drive to burn, only to install applications/games from it. I am trying to burn photos onto a blank DVD, however, Nero only recognizes this as a CD-RW drive. My drive states its a DVD writable drive. The drive, has no problem reading DVD data off the disc. So now, I am puzzled and stuck on what to do. Anyone can help please? Should I try a different software? In case you need the model number its: DRW-24F1ST
  10. ASUS have asked about what would you like to see from a maximus/crosshair gene or formula ? As it stands out today, we have lots from the ROG line. Maximus III GENE (Intel) Crosshair IV Formula (AMD) Crosshair IV Extreme (AMD) Rampage III Extreme (Intel) Rampage III GENE (Intel) Rampage III Formula (Intel) Maximus III Formula (Intel) But with the upcoming new processors which requires new sockets, ASUS have decided to ask what are the demands for users (us) on what we would like to see them implement for the next generation. If you have ideas or thoughts, come on over to this thread and let your voices/opinion be heard: http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showthread.php?1447-The-next-GENE-and-Formula-! With me being an AMD user, I would love to see a Crosshair GENE board designed for mATX users. Every thought counts!
  11. RIP Verran. Sad to see him go knowing all the contributions and discussions were very helpful. I learned a lot from his posts.
  12. You can buy 1066 as long as your CPU supports it. I believe if I am not mistaken its the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 and above. So anything higher you should be able to run 1066Mhz Ram. Your motherboard states it can support 1600 IF you overclock. So it will take some tweaking to get to that speed. Hope that helps and good luck!
