  1. For the past few months, occasionally, when I boot, the RTC sets the date back to 12/31/2002. It doesn't happen everytime or often, but it is a pain to have to reboot and set the clock and date. With Vista, no matter what time i set in the BIOS, it always sets it one hour ahead in Windows. Stupid new DST. Now today when I booted for the first time, I got a BIOS checksum error and had to reset everything. I never have any problems when the system is up and running, only when I start it. One would think if the RTC battery ws going kaput, it would happen all of the time, but it doesn't. It can go a day, week, or month before I have to fix the date/time. Suggestions?
  2. I would definitely suggest spending 6 bucks more for the brass top. Brass won't crack.
  3. All the other ones you could just pop in the previous OS CD and there you go. I guess they now want to make sure you have XP that you can activate before they let you upgrade. Now if I ever want to reinstall Vista, I have to load XP first and then do an upgrade.
  4. Actually 5.9 is the highest you can get. I get 5.9 on everything except the CPU. What's it take to get a freakin 5.9? I've got a C2D 6600 running at 3.2. The only thing I hate with Vista, besides it using 300 MB more memory, is you can forget about ever using a stereo mix to record "what you hear". I'm sure the DRM has pressured the sound card manufacturers to block it. I've tried a soundcard from Soundblaster and Turtle Beach as well as onboard and nada. The onboard didn't work with XP, but the other two did. The good thing is the Audigy 2 doesn't pop anymore playing music like it did with XP.
  5. After only two months, I lose the time after I turn my system off. It started this morning. I only noticed because my a/v was complaining about the date. Sure enough, it always goes back to 1/1/03. I should make DFI send me one, but it's not worth the headache. Anyone know of the part number for like a Duracell?
  6. I haven't had any cold boot problems since I installed 9/13.
  7. Actually, they were smart not to take the gun. I believe stealing a gun may be a federal crime. Did you not have insurance?
  8. This: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...67&postcount=24 Was giving me load temps of 65c in an 18c ambient room. That would mean in a normal environment of 24c...that would be 71c. This is watercooled with a Storm and a double heatercore. I've backed it off to 3.2 for normal 24/7 use at stock V-Core.
  9. I believe that the C2D diodes are calibrated better than AMD. It wouldn't surprise me if the AMD's weren't actually 15-20c higher than reported.
  10. Bah... two big. Too power hungry. Totally unnecessary for any games now or for years and years in the future. Software companies are in buisiness to make money. No one in their right mind is going to develop any game that only 1% of systems can play. Talk about a money losing proposition.
  11. I don't think so Raju. I think it adds support for unlocked multipliers up for Extreme Edition CPUS. I guess the Extreme's were locked from going to higher multipliers on this board.
  12. First off, do you NEED 1.75v on the NB and +.075v on the CPU extra to get 3.2 stable on your system? I'm running 3.2 as my 24/7 with stock voltages on everything. The 1.75v really seems like overkill for such a low OC. (Don't you love the C2D's? 800 MHz is considered low. ) This is what I use if you have the room: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835109128 My N/B is currently at 27c, but it is chilly in here at about 18c.

  14. I live in a very small apartment.... ~750 sq. ft. This is the only place in the entire apartment that this will fit. I would prefer to put it in the living room, because instead of watching this TV while on the CPU: I could be watching this one:
