El_Capitan Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 what about the gtx 780 non ti its dropped as low as 269 I think the GTX 780 overclocked is just below the performance of a GTX 970 and R9 290X at stock.
Waco Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Depending on the game, of course. A base 780 is pretty well matched with a 290X and a 970 in many games (at 2560x1440) but the 970 does tend to pull ahead in some more modern games that really push GPUs and CPUs to their limits. That said, I'd get a 970 every time over a 290X for more reasons than I care to elaborate about tonight.

DanTheGamer11 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 AMD drivers are fine if your OS installation isn't messed up I've had more problems with nVidia tbh
Carterjj Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Never had a problem with my amd drivers. The only bad part was the larger download at first to get catalyst. Other than that been pretty easy. Even a couple drivers ago when they screwed up and you had to remove the old drivers they offered a removal tool.

ccokeman Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 The 970 is faster and overclocks like a beast. At least the one I am working on does. The core boost clock is up over 1600MHz and memory is over 8200Mhz QDR.
