Ok thanks. I do plan on OCing this rig to the max, which is why I'm getting a good stock cooler. I know that Intel chips generally have lower power consumption and they tend to run at lower temps. That would help me get it to a higher clock rate, right? Anyway, thanks for the help. -trixter1081

Well for one, the AMD processors are a lot cheaper and the 8320 or 8350 can be compared to the i5-4670K. I don't know, this is my first build and I don't know tons about PC building, so are the Intel processors like way better than AMD? If they are, I will go with an Intel processor.

So I'll start by saying that nothing is finalized in this build. I'm looking for suggestions on my very first build. I plan on using this rig to play big games like Battlefield and Crysis. My budget for the rig is $1000. I've yet to look at peripherals but do not want to exceed $500 dollars on a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset. I also enjoy playing Minecraft, but I heard that it is only intensive on the RAM. I also want to overclock the CPU, GPU, and maybe the RAM to get the very best performance out of my parts. Anyway, on to the build! CPU- AMD FX 8320 OR AMD FX-6300 CPU Cooler- Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO OR a closed loop water-cooling unit Motherboard- MSI 990FXA-GD80V2 Memory- Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3-1866 SSD- Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB HDD- Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM Video Card- Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB Network Card- TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n PCIE x1 Case- NZXT Phantom 410 ATX Mid Tower Power Supply- SeaSonic 660W 80 PLUS Platinum Certified ATX12V Optical Drive- Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer Well theres the build so far. Suggestions on peripherals will also be greatly appreciated. Thank in advance for any help you decide to give me. -trixter1081

Thanks! I'm actually about to post my current list for my very first build. Nothing is finalized, and I hope I can get some good advice and suggestions on it.

I'll start off by saying that I am a n00b to building PCs. I've never built one before but am looking to switch from console gaming. I joined this site because I want to build my first rig and want to get some help from some of the experts on this site. So I guess I'll tell a little about myslef. Well, I'm 19 and a Sophmore in college. I've played consoles my whole life and probably will continue to play them even after I build my first gaming PC. I like FPS, MMO, and RPG games. I'll just say now that I like FPS's like BF3 and the last COD game I bought was MW2. I also enjoy playing fighting games like Mortal Combat. I also enjoy Minecraft a lot, but don't play it much because all I own is a MacbookAir that I use for school and music production. I also LOVE music. Some of my heroes are John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Bob Dylan. I'm usually busy 5 days a week with school, so I probably won't be able to post everyday. Anyway, I won't bore you with anymore information about my life.
