  1. i built a pc for a friend last year a celeron 2.4 on a asus(cant remember the board model) built as a budget home system and that little demon would overclock to 3.2 without a care in the world.slight temp increase but retained standard cooling.last i heard its going along as if it were just done.
  2. na no streak broken mate she's cool. dont get busted 4 sleeping at work hey. my boss gets snotty when he busts me doin the same ciao!!
  3. sorry thats not what i was trying to say.i was only trying to help and ive only been on this forum since september but ive learnt stuff already. personally i prefer this forum to the australian one which im also in.unfortunately the aussie one has too many egos and swelled heads.evryone on here has been great to me so far..
  4. i dont do things differently to anyone else -i think but i meant but thought into how their gonna work in conjunction with each other.ive known people who puts in 6 fans that suck and blow against each other and do stuff all to cool.maintain a air flow-SOME to SUCK IN (INTAKE) and some for BLOWING OUT (EXHAUST). dont have them working against each other.if u wanna check out my case on my homepage then you'll see how my (crappy paint shop) diagram works in my case. not all cases the same but u probably know that already. dont think coz uve got 4,5,6 fans inside ure gonna run cool just evaluate your situation and what u need to do. Sorry if ive rambled on but u wanted me to explain myself. hope it helps. in case u wonder why the 2 12cm fans in the front of my case spin in opposite directions its supposed to work on a jet principal of AIR CONVECTION. all i know is i get good overclocks without the temp in the 60'celcius and thats good for me.still not as cool as i want but thats why my vapochill is on order.YAY!!! CANT WAIT
  5. i'd start freaking out at about 65 as well. mine idles on 39-40 and under heavy load peaks(and its gone no higher) than 55 celcius. ive got my fans all working in the proper way they should,i didnt just go the old throw in 9 fans and see how we go.i thought how they would work with each other and set about making them Efficent.you can have 9 fans and still end up with a Smokincpu.
  6. aftera range of cpu coolers i bought the Silent Tower and its done a great job so far.my 3.2 runs at 3.8 most of the time and ive ran it at 4.1 for a few days jst to see how it went.fans and heatpipes can only cool so much so now im getting a vapochill kit to fit to my case once i make up a housing for it. silent tower will do the job for you .i dont know your climate but the hot australian summer(last 5 days above 36celcius) and gettin hotter kept the cpu cooler than the others ive had
  7. i must commend you on a top job. i gather you enjoyed doing it when it was all finished even if there was any swearing or cursing along the way. top job
  8. ive got a p4 3.2e- do revision that i o/c up and down according to the ambient temp, most cases it sits on 3.8 but ive had it running at 4160ghz for a day without any dramas.im in perth western australia and we're in summer which usually has days like the last 4 at around 38-40 celcius and without water/refrig-cooling is hard to keep the temps down. i upped the core volyage between 1.4-1.6 depending on the o/c. My Webpage check out my specs on this link as i cant be bothered retyping them. my idle temps are usually 39-41 on a hot 38c day and load temps get up to 53 max.i havent ventured past 1.6 volts to the cpu yet but ill get there when my watercooling set arrives in a couple of weeks.im also connecting up a domestic home water chiller as the res tank when i set it up. provided u've got the cooling taken care of go on and crank it up.
  9. eew id put that back on or get a new fan/passive solution or wait for the meltdown when you happen to be giving the system a full load workout.
  10. cranked up my p4 2.8 at 2nd boot after installing xp not a drama at all give it a false sense of security then give it hell...
  11. ah gotta love it when they say it cant be done
  12. good job watch the temp under heavy load havent had much to do with celerons but my friends gets a bit temperature testy under heavy load
  13. read faqs carefully, be patient and increase in small steps. dont go straight for the limit. if youve read faqs then ill asume youve got the basics at least, fsb, multiplier n voltage if not then read again, gotta start from there
