Bosco Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Today OCC looks at the AMD TWKR CPU running on Dry Ice http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/am...on_cpu_preview/
Guest ajmatson Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Very nice review. That is one overclocking chip.
DLS2008 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Loved the review! Too bad that's not a chip that will be hitting standard commercial channels. That video was pretty neat at the end there.

Crazy_Nate Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Now that's a pretty cool chip!
IVIYTH0S Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Good job, that's a nice super 940 ya had there. I wanna see how far one would go under my TRUE
Kash Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 That chip would be insulted if you put a TRUE on it
The Smith Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 That chip would be insulted if you put a TRUE on it Even dice was barely enough to show its real power... BTW it's not a 940. And neither a 955.
IVIYTH0S Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 (edited) Even dice was barely enough to show its real power... BTW it's not a 940. And neither a 955. haha I know it's not but from your decription it sure sounded like one (though I do know it's not....) Plus I'd be interested to see how far it could go on air only because you were saying it was designed to run much cooler and with lower voltages so I was curious to see how an every day overclocker could use one. (Heck I'll be glad to try it, if you'd be willing to let me borrow it) Edited July 1, 2009 by IVIYTH0S
kendellrt Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 I noticed you said it's stock frequency was 2GHz, but in your CPU-Z screen shot it shows the HT at 2GHz and the CPU clock at 3.2GHz. Am I seeing it correctly?
_TheAlexO Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 (edited) i agree, i think it would be interesting to see how well it would do under normal air cooling.. and benching with a game or two. Instead of synthetics. just for kicks Edited July 1, 2009 by ShallowBay
damian Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 (edited) i agree, i think it would be interesting to see how well it would do under normal air cooling.. and benching with a game or two. Instead of synthetics. just for kicks For now, these won't be made available for retail, so I assume the few that are able to play with this chip are ones that have extreme cooling methods for overclocking. Wouldn't make much sense for air or other benchmarks. http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1009/2/ EDIT: I need to start reading ALL of the posts instead of just part of it, didn't see the "just for kicks" part Edited July 1, 2009 by damian
