dling Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) My current set up is two evga gtx 580's in sli. The 1536mb series. I'm not sure if I should just add another 580 for 3 way sli or go with a new card. The gtx 980s look appealing for the price. I'm not interested in amd . I'm not sure if the 980 is that much better then what I have now and worth the money. I can get another 580 for 150.00. Any suggestions or help would be great. Thanks. ir_cow Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 if a gtx 750 is close to the preformance of a 580 than a 970 alone is faster than 580s in Sli.
SpikeSoprano Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) I'd go with the 970, it's almost as fast as a 980 but cheaper and would save the hassel and power draw of 3 580's Also you wouldn't gain any more memory with a third 580. dling Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I'm not worried about power use, just want more performance.
dling Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Looks like I could do two 970's for just a little more than the single 980.
dling Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I think I will go with 980. The next question is, my son had a radon hd 5970. Would the 580's in sli be better then that card?
