sdy284 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 so it takes 3 slot cooling to get decent temps eh? It'll be interesting to see how these temps are
Locutus Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Dang that's a big card. What's with the semi-circular cuts in the card itself?
hosnappp Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I'm sorry but nothing about that card seems worth it to me. The performance cannot justify the ridiculous size. Especially considering it's toe-to-toe with the 5850 and you can get the 5850 for like... 310 dollars right now.
ccokeman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Dang that's a big card. What's with the semi-circular cuts in the card itself? Those are for the stock cooling to draw in more airflow to keep a reference cooled card cool. I'm sorry but nothing about that card seems worth it to me. The performance cannot justify the ridiculous size. Especially considering it's toe-to-toe with the 5850 and you can get the 5850 for like... 310 dollars right now. You ahve to consider the HD 5850 that the card was tested against was a 2gb equipped overclocked model. Take that into consideration as well as the fact that the 5850 was also custom cooled and you get a card that runs cooler and performs better in most of the tests. Compare to a stock 5850 head to head and you can see what card is faster........
davidst Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 How does that card "Fold" ? I want a cooler running card for Folding At Home.
ccokeman Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I'm sure it would cool quite well during a folding load based on the load temperatures. I have yet to put it into a folding rig to see what it does
